Be it known that I, IVILLIAM Lnnrann Miaognnnn, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Grosse Pointe Farms, county of \jVayne, State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Auxiliary GasolineSupply Devices, of which th following is a specification, ref? erence being had to the accon'ipanyingdrawings.
It is the primary object of my invention to providean auxiliary gasoline sup-ply device of the type wherein the gasoline supply line, which extends into the gasoline tank, is crooked, or otherwise bent, at its lower end and is pivoted at its upper end, so that movement thereof will cause the extreme outer end of the lower portion :to be either raised or lowered, as desired, with the result that when raised a supply of gasoline in the bottom of tank is not accessible to the end of the feed line; whereas when it .is lowered, such gasoline is accessible thereto.
It is a still further and primary object of my invention to so position the operating lever which swings the pivoted feed line that when it is in position for lowering the end 01 the feed line it will be over the filler cap of the gasoline tank, so that the cap may not be removed and additional fuel supplied to the tank until the lever is moved so as to move the end of the feed line to its elevated position.
lVith the above, and other objects, in view, my invention consists in the arrangement, combination and construction of the various parts of my improved devices as described in the specification claimed in my claim and shown in the accompanying drawings, in which:

I have shown a gasoline tank 5, having the customary filler cap 6 and filler neck 7 thereon.
The top of the gasoline tank is provided with a slight elevation 8, which is interiorly screw-threaded to receive the screw-threaded end 9 of a fitting having a hollow spherical top 10, in which is positioned a ball 11. Th top portion of the hollow member 10 is cut away as at 12 and the screw-threaded end of a handle 14 is inserted therethrough into engagement with the ball 11. A gas line supply pipe 15, having a crook d end 16, is extended. into t e g ol e tank 5, and has its upper end secured as at 17 to ball 11.
The ball 11 is provided with a passageway 16, connected with the end of the feed line 15 and to aSecond feed line 17 secured to the projection 18 on the outside of the member 10 by mcansof a screw-threaded connection 19.
\Vith the above construction gasoline in the tank 5 is drawn through the outermost end 20 of the feed line 15, the passageway 16 and the feed line 1 7,.to the ordinary vacuum tank or other source used for drawing the gasoline from the tank. When the gasoline level becomes lower than the outermost end 20 of the feed line, the lever 14 may be moved to the position shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1, with the result that the ball 11 pivots so as to move the feed line 15, as
shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1, and lower the outermost end 20 thereof to a lower level in the tank 5 and permit additional gasoline to be drawn through the feed line. hen this is done it will be seen that the end of the lever 14 is positioned over the filler cap (3, so that the cap may not be removed and additional gasoline supplied to the tank until the lever is moved upwardly to its normal position.
lVhile I have here described and shown the lever 14; as being positioned over the filler cap 6, I desire it to be understood that any position of the lever 1 1 which will draw attention to it when the filler cap is being removed, is within the scope of my invention and it is my intention that any claim shall be construed accordingly.
In Fig. 1 I have shown a modification of my invention wherein a tubular fitting 21 is screw-threaded on'the projection 22 of the gasoline tank 5 and an elongated member 23 of corresponding formation is inserted therein, to which is attached the feed line 15 and the lever 14:. A cap 24- is screwed into one end of the fitting 21 and has se-- cured therein the feed line 17. A passage 25 is also provided in the member 23, con- "necting the feed lines 15 and 17 and movement of the lever 14 will swivel the member 23 so as to move the feed'line 15 in the same manner as heretofore described.
In Fig. 5 1 have shown a further modification wherein a fitting 26 is screw-threaded to a projection 27 on the gasoline tank 5, a ,ball 28 is provided in the upper end of the fitting 2 6 and a cap 29' is screw-threaded to said upper end as at 30 to secure the ball 28 in place. The lever 14 is sec ired init-he same manner to the ballQS, as is the feed line 15. The feed line 17 extends into the passageway 31 provided in the ball 28 and is secured by screw-threading directly to the fitting 26. By extending the feed line 17 into the passageway 31 it becomes impossible to move the lever 1 1 so that the connection between the pasageway and the feet line 17 shall become disconnected or closed.
The extension of the feed line 17 into the movable elements may be followed in the other "formations heretofore described with it is obvious that various changes may be made in the arrangement, combination and construction of various parts of my improved device without departing from the spirit of my invention, and it is my intention to cover by my claim such changes as may be reasonably included within the scope thereof.

In combination, a tank having a filler spout thereon, a member secured to said tank, a socket in said member, a movable memberfitted in said socket,,a passage in said movable member, a conduit in said tank having one end connected in constantly open relation with said passage and fixed to said movable member, so as to be movable there- -with, a second conduit connected with said first member and open to said passage and first conduit, said first and second conduits being extended at different angles to said movable member, ahandle connected with said movable member and adapted to move it on an axis concentric with the axis of said second conduit, whereby said second conduit may be kept constantly open with said passage, said handle being so fashioned that it will overlie the said filler spout when moved in one direction.
