' DOLL.
- 7 Application filed March 20, 1925.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PAULINE HENRIETTE VAN LAAR, subject of Netherlands, residing at Gerzensee, Canton of Berne, Switzerland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a D011, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to a doll which is normally used as a toy but which if convenient may also be transformed into a pillow.
In the drawing one working form of the object of the invention is represented as an example.
Fig. 1 is a front view of the doll, Fig. 2 a side view of the doll transformed into a pillow, and Figs. 3 and L show the under and upper sides of this pillow.
According to the drawing the trunk 1 of the doll is a thin square pillow having rigidly attached to its side-edges two loops 2 representing the arms with hands put in the pockets. The legs 3 are loosely attached as is also the head 4 which is intended to form the stuffing of the pillow and is very enlarged so as to cover nearly the whole trunk when laid across the same. The legs stuck through the loops have to maintain the head put across the trunk the back side of which is forming the upperside of the pillow.
The doll may also be provided with a neck-tie 5 which attached to the trunk only on its front side may be used as a handle to carry the doll after its transformation into a pillow.
As a doll is easily soiled and would as such be unfit for being used as a pillow some buttons 6 or other suitable means are provided on the back of the doll that is on the upper side of the pillow which means are adapted to attach a pillow-case 7 thereto.
All limbs of the doll are stulfed and on the whole any hard'body which might hurt a child is avoided, even the buttons 6 are made of soft stuff.
Serial No. 17,128.
Claims:
1. In a doll arranged so as to be alterable into a pillow the combination of a trunk consisting of a stuffed envelope formed from square sheets of cloth for the front-side of the pillow, a very enlarged stuffed head loosely attached to said trunk so as to be easily laid across the trunk where it forms the stufling of the pillow, a pair of stuffed arms forming loops attached to both sides of said trunk and a pair of stufied legs loosely attached to the trunk and adapted to be passed through said loops and to mainiain the head forming the stuffing of the pil- 2. In a doll arranged so as to be alterable into a pillow the combination of a trunk formed by a square stufled sheet of cloth for the front-side of the pillow, an enlarged stufled head loosely attached and laid across the trunk in order to form the stufling of the pillow, a pair of arms forming loops on both sides of the trunk, a pair of stuffed legs loosely attached to the trunk so as to be passed through said loops and to maintain the head forming the stuffing of the pillow and a neck tie fixed only to the frontside of the neck and adapted to be used as a handle for carrying the pillow.
3. In a doll arranged so as to be alterable into a pillow the combination of a trunk formed by a square sheet of cloth for the front-side of the pillow, an enlarged stuffed head loosely attached to the trunk and laid across the trunk so as to form the stuffing of the pillow, a pair of arms formed as loops on both sides of the trunk, and a pair of stuffed legs loosely attached to the trunk and passed through said loops so as to maintain the head in place and a sheet of cloth as a pillow-slip and fastoning means for the same provided 011 the rear of said trunk sheet.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
