Specification formingupart of Letters Patent No. 154,621, dated September -1, 1874 ;A application filed v March 2s, 1814.
' To all whom it may concern:
' and valuable.Improvement in Stove-Drums;
and I do hereby declare that the following is afull, clear,and exact descriptionof the construction and operation of the same, reference' being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specilication, and to the letters and igures of reference marked thereon.
Figure l ot' the drawing is a representation of a sectional View of my stove-drum. Fig. 2 same, and Fig. 3 is a Y .This invention has relation to stove-pipe rad1ators,whieh also serve as supports for articles `which itis desired to keep warm wit-hout infringing on the stove space. It consists in the construction and arrangement ofthe parts, as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
Inv the annexed drawings, A Adesignatc two collars, which are. adapted to receiveA stove-pipe sections, which forni a continuity ot'4 flue through the radiating drum. B designates an inverted conc, and C a cylindrical portioinwhich forms a cylindr-conical drumsection. *This is the lower section ott-he drum,
on the lower end ot' which the collar A is formed. E designates the upper section of the drum, which is removable, and` which, like thelower section, is` cylindre-conical, the eylindrical portion of which being fitted tightly over the cylindrical portion L- ot' the lower Section 0f this drum, as shown inFig. 1. 'lhc upper end of the conical portion of the upper removable section E terminates in the stovepipe collar A', which latter may be made ot' any desired lengt-h, and it may have a rib formed on it, as yshown in Fig. 1, for a purpose -hereinafter explained'. Inside of thedruni thus described., is another section, f which is composed of an inverted cone, D, and a cylindrical portion, D', formed on the base ported by lugs b upon the inner side ot the rests upona beadlformed o n the collar A'.
.The upper surface of this shelf is Liorizontal, for the purpose ot' supporting dishes,&c;,a'.1d the lower side of this shelt' is conical, for the receivesA more or less heat. from thestove-pipe, .which heat is radiated downwardly and outwardly, as just stated. The heat whichr is radiated upwardly from the top of the drum be neath will Aalso be reflected into the room by the bright bottom surface ofthe shelf F. During the warm days of summer the drum l C E may be omitted and thc'shelf F used alone, as indicated in Fig. 3.
That I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The sleeves orcollars A A', formed respectively on the detachable eylindroconical sections B, (l, and E,in combination with the isolated reniovable and internal section 'D D', and with the removable plano-convex shelf E, substantially as described. I
In testimony that I claim the above I have Witnesses 0. A. PITCHER,
E. ll. GUILBEn'r.
cone B, which isolates the former from the purpose'of radiating downwardly and out- `wardlythe heat.` The interior of this shelf hereunto subscribed my name in thepresencef
