WIRE SUPPORT.
Application filed September 14, 1922. Serial No. 588,202.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, HARRY E. EASTERDAY and WILLIAM H. KENNEDY, citizens of the United States, residing, respectively, at Martinsburg and Bedington, in the county of Berkeley, State of West Vir inia, have invented a new and useful Wire upport, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to telephone or telegraph wire supporting and securing devices, the primary object of the invention being to provide a device of this character which will support a plurality of wires in proper spaced relation with each other and eliminate any possibility of the wires being blown into en agement with each other.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which is of a construction to require comparatively small space, novel means being provided for securing the wires to the device.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will ap a! as the description proceeds, the inventlon resides in the comination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departin from the spirit of the invention.

Figure 1 is a fragmental elevational view disclosing the upper end of a telephone post, as supplied with a supporting device constructed in accordance with the present invention.
Figure 2 is a fra ental sectional view taken transversely o the supporting member and Figure 3 is a sectional view taken on line 3-3 of Figure 1.
Referring to the drawing in detail, the reference character 5 designates a telephone post, which may be of any desired construction, it being understood that suitable means may be employed for securing the device to various types of posts.
The support, forming the essence of the invention embodies a ring member 6 which is formed with spaced flanges 7 which are formed with cut out portions 7 extending from the periphery of the ring member and terminating in curved portions 8. These curved portions are designed to receive the sectional wire securing members 9, the sections being constructed so that when they are brought together, the diameters thereof will be equal to the diameters of theopenings 8 to insure a close-fit between the walls of l the openings and the securing members.
Each of these sections is formed with a semi-circular cut out portion extending throughout the length thereof, which semi-- circular cut out portions when brought into registry with each other provide openings to accommodate the wires which are indicated at 10.
In order that the securing devices will be held against lateral movement and locked within their openings, lugs 11 are formed between the flanges 7 and arranged adjacent to the openings 8, the lugs being designed to fit within the openings 12 of the securing devices.
Suitable binding members such as wires 13 are employed for securing the sections of the securing device together, when they have been moved to their proper supporting positions.
At the upper end of the post 5 is a modified form of supporting device especially designed for positioning at the upper end of a post, the same being semi-circular in formation and formed with cut out portions extending from the edge thereof, as inclicated at 14.
The lower bar 15 of this modified form is provided with openings to accommodate the bolts 16, whereby the device may be secured to the post. From the foregoing it will be seen that we have provided means for securing and supporting a plurality of telegraph wires in proper spaced relation with each other to eliminate any possibility of the wires blowing into engagement with each other to render the lines inoperative.
What is claimed is:
In a supporting device, a circular body portion having a groove formed in its periphery defining spaced flanges, the flanges having registering openings and having relatively straight portions extending to the edges of the flanges, lugs formed integral as our own, we have hereto allixed our signatures in the presence of two witnesses.
