To all whom it"may concern:
Be it known thatI, ALBERT Bnxsnnr, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Pawtucket, in the county of Providence, State of Rhode Island, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Adjustable Supports for Electric or other \Vires, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a device for supporting electric or other wires; and the obec't in view is to provide, a device of this character, whereby its fixed support may be mounted at different posit-ions upon a wall or other surface and at the same time permit of its insulator-posts being adjusted to a proper position to receive the wire connections.
My invention consists of a fixed member, or support proper, provided with a socket at each end thereof, and which socket is surrounded by an inwardly extending flange provided with a series of ooves, and an insulator -%)O5t having an integral locking portion," o- .the same contour as that of the socket and flange of first mentioned member. In the accompanying sheet of drawings, F ,igure 1 is a front elevation of the fixed member of my device. Fig. 2 is a' view, partly in section and partly in elevation, showing the fixed member mounted on a wall, and also showing the insulator-post in its relative adjusted position upon said fixed memben! Fig. 3 is a front elevation of my improved device, showing the fixed member as m'horizontal position and t-he insulatorposts adjusted to their pro er vertical position upon said fixed mem er, and, Fw. 4 represents the fixed member as mounted in an angular position, and theinsulator-posts intheir normal position upon said fixed member.

said flange divides said opening from a centrally arranged recess formed in the rear of each base, as at a", and the flange of each base of said member or support has a series of V-shaped grooves a, a surrounding its entering-opening a*, in the manner shown 1n Figs. 1 and 2.

When the device is to be mounted so that its support a may extend horizontally, as shown in Fig. 3, the insulator-posts b, b are positioned within their respective enteringopenings a, a, and laterally of said support, after which the device is secured to the wall d by screws e, e which pass through openings f, ffformedin each baseportion of the support a.
In cases wherein the wall surface does not permit of the support a being secured in a horizontal position, the posts b, b may be adjusted to a locked angular position upon said support, so that whemthe devie is mounted upon the wall it extends at an incline thereupon and with the posts in a normal vertical position, as shown in Fig. 4.
' By. my-construction and arrangement of parts'l provide a device that contains in itself all that is necessary to accommodate the support being mounted in different positions upon a wall and at the same time afford the proper positioning of its insulator-posts. Having described my invention what I claim and desire to secure by Letters-Patent, 1s

In a device of the character described, a fixed member or support having a circular base at eachend thereof, and each base having a raised circular flange which divides an entering-opening from a recess formed in the rear; of each" base, and the flange of each base having a series of V-shapcd grooves surrounding its entering-opening, an insulatorpost having an inte ral collar and head at one end thereof, sai collar having a series of V-shaped shoulders adapted to fit in the grooves of each base of first mentioned member, and said head of a size to fit the reing a support provided with an enteringopening at each end thereof and surrounding a series of grooves, and an insulator-post having an integral collar adapted to be brought within the entering-opening and having a series of shoulders to fit 1n the grooves of said support, so constructed that each member may be adjusted in difierent angular positions relatively to each other.
