DISPLAY DEVICE.
* .dpplication filed September 8, 1924. Serial No. 736,391.
T 0 all whom; it may concern. a I Be it known that I, Anonrrr Dm'rsonn, Junior, a citizen of the United States, and a residentof New York, borough of Queens, in the county of Queens and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display Devices, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to display devices and particularly to devices of the class specified wherein the device is formed of sheet material and is supported in display position by means of an article or package to which the display directs attention.
The object of my improvements is to provide a device of the character specified simple in construction, economical of material and which may be erected simply by bending on its scored lines.
To these ends and others which will appear later herein my improvements comprise features illustrated in their preferred embodiment in the drawing accompanying this specification wherein Figure 1 is a perspective elevation of the device in erected position and Fig. 2 is an elevation of the device in flat form ready for erection or packing for shipment.
Said device comprises a front display member 2 of fanciful contour, the arbitrary form shown being that of two boys playing at leapfrog.
The upper part 2 of said front is preferably of rectangular contour and is wider than the body portion 2 thereof.
That portion 2 of said front extending to one side of the lower portion has a lower horizontal edge 7 to which is articulated rearwardly reaching top member 3 and the lower edge of front 2 has a similar rearwardly reaching base member at articulated thereto at 10.
Said base member f extends rearwardly a greater distance than does member and is provided at the rear thereof with a transverse ear 5 to the front edge 9 of which is articulated back member 6. The upper edge of said back member 6 is articulated at 8 to the rear edge of top 3. Preferably the depth of top 3, from folding line 7 to folding line 8 is equal to the depth of base a, from the lower edge 10 of body 2 to the front edge 9 of ear 5, whereby back 6 is parallel with body 2.
Alsofor simplicity of, C'0nstruction the infacing edges 11 and 12 of top 3 and back 6, respectively, are complementary to the infaeing edges 13 and 14, respectively, of front 2 and base 4.
I claim: s
. 1. In adevice of the character described the combination of a front, the upper por tion of which extends transversely from the lower portion thereof, a top member articulated to and extending rearwardly from the lower edge of said upper portion of the front, a base member articulated to the lower edge of said front and extending rearwardly therefrom, said base member having a transversely extending ear at its rear, a back member articulated at its lower edge to an edge of the ear of said base member and at its upper edge to the rear edge of said top member.
2. In a device of the character described the combination of a front, the upper portion of which extends transversely from the lower portion thereof, a top member articulated to and extending rearwardly from the lower edge of said upper portion of the front, a base member articulated w the lower edge of said front and extending rearwardly therefrom, said base member having a transversely extending ear at its rear, a back member articulated at its lower edge to the front edge of the ear of saidbase member and at its upper edge to the rear edge of said top member.
8. In a device of the character described the combination of a front, the upper portion of which extends transversely from the lowerportion thereof, a top member articulated to and extending rearwardly from the lower edge of said upper portion of the front, a base member articulated to the lower edge. of said front and extending rearwardly therefrom, said base member having a transversely extending ear at its rear, a back member articulated at its lower edge to the front edge of the ear of said base member and at its upper edge to the rear edge of said top member, the infacing edges of said front and base being complementary to the infacing edges of said top and back.
4. In a device of the character described the combination of a front, the upper portion of which extends transversely from the lower portion thereof, a top member articulated to and extending rearwardly from the lower edge of said upper portion of the front, a base member articulated to the lower edge of said front and extending rearwardly therefrom, said base member having a transversely extending ear at its rear, a back member articulated at its lower edge to the front edge of the ear of said base member and at its upper edge to the rear edge of said top member, the depth of said top being equal to the depth of said base from its line of articulation with said front to the line of articulation of its ear with said back, whereby said front and back are parallel.
5. In a device of the character described the combination of a front, the upper portion of which extends transversely from the lower portion thereof, a top member articulated to and extending rearwardly from the lower edge of said upper portion of the front, a base member articulated to the lower edge of said front and extending rearwardly therefrom, said base member having a transversely extending car at its rear, a back member articulated at its lower edge to the front edge of the ear of said base member and at its upper edge to the rear edge of said top member, whereby said front and back are parallel.
In witness whereof, I hereby affix my signature this 2nd day of September, 1924;.
