Referring to the annexed drawing in which my invention is illustrated and which forms a part of this specification:

In the drawing 1 and 2 indicate a pair of tubular telescoping'members, the member 2 telescoping within the {member 1. In the upper end of the member 1 is in vertedly mounted a cup-shaped air chamber 3 so that the upper half thereof ex tends beyond the end of said member. The lower edge of the chamber 3 is formed with an annular bead 1. A musical element 5 comprises a disk 6 provided with tour slots 7, two reeds 8 secured to the upper face of said disk over two of said reeds, and two slots 9 secured to the under side of said disk over the other two of said slots. The element 5 is mounted in the lower or inner end of the chamber 3 by means of the bead 4 which is crimped over the edge of the disk 6. The chamber 3 has a plurality of openings 10 in its upper wall. A rod 11 extends diametrically through the upper part of the chamber 3 and is journalcd in the walls thereof, a handle 12 being formed on said rod at one side of I said chamber 3 by bending the rod around upon itself and securing its end 13 to itself near said chamber wall. The other end of rod 11 is bent into an eye it which together with the end 13 prevents the rod from sliding out of the Walls of said cham' her. A connecting element 15 comprises a single piece of wire bent m the middle into a loop 16, then upwardly at the ends of said loop into humps 17 which rest upon the upper edge of chamber 3, and then outwardly at the outer lower ends of said humps into arcuate arms 18 which extend around the chamber 3 and have eyes 19 at their ends bent around the rod 11 between the handle end 13 and said chamber and 'betw-een the eye lt and said chamber re spec-tively. The engagement of the humps 1? upon the upper edge of the chamber 3 holds up the element 15 in horizontal position. An elastic band 20 is connected at its upper end to the loop 16. A connecting member 21 comprises a single piece of wire bent in the middle into. a loop 22, then from the ends ofsaid loop into arcuate members23 and 2% which encircle and embrace the lower end of the tubular member 2, the member 23 extending under the member 24; diametrically opposite the loop 22, then downwardly from member 23 diametrically opposite loop 22 into a hump and upwardly from member 24 diametrically opposite loop 22 into a hump 26, then from hump 25 into an arcuate prong 27 which sticks into one side of the member 2 between the hump 25 and loop' 22 and then from hump 26 into an arcuate prong 28 which sticks into the other side of said member 2 between hump 26 and loop 22. The humps 25 and 26 engage the member 2 to prevent tipping of the connecting element 22 and to hold it in horizontal position. The lower end of the elastic band 20 is connected to loop 22. A tremolo valve 30 is mounted in the member 2 about midway of its ends, which valve comprises a disk 31 provided with an opening 32 and a thin metal valve flap 33 secured at one edge by a prong 34 to said disk below said opening 32, said flap being weighted by a weight 35 opposite its point of support. The disk 31 fits tightly in the member 2. The member 2 has a lower end wall 36 provided with an opening 37.
By holding the handle 12 and rotating the toy on the rod 11 the member 2 is drawn outwardly from thennember 1 and the reeds 9 are drawn down and caused to make a musical sound while the valve 30 gives the sound a tremolo effect. When reeds 8 are caused to make a musical sound which is given a tremolo efii'ect by valve 30. The reeds 8 and 9 may of course be caused to operate as described simply by mov ing the member 2 in and out of the member 1 or by blowing through the holes 37 or 10.
If desired the toy may be carried on the pole on which is a flag 4:1 by introducing saidpole through the loops 22 and 16, as shown in Fig. 7 and the toy and flag and pole may besold together.
Having described my invention, 1 claim:
1. A toy comprising a pair of telescoping members, an air chamber in the outer end of the outer member, a musical element in the inner end of said air chamber, the outer end of said chamber being provided with openings, a rod extending diametrically through the outer part of said air chamber on which the toy is turnably journaled, a handle on said rod, a connecting element connected to said rod, a connecting element connected to the lower end of the inner tele scoping member, and an elastic band connected at its ends to said connecting elements respectively.
2. A toy comprising a pair of telescoping members, an air chamber in the outer end of the outer member, a musical element in the inner end of said air chamber, the outer end of said chamber being provided with openings, a rod extending diametrically through the outer part of said air chamber on which the toy is turnably journaled, a handle on said rod, a connecting element connected to said red, a connecting element connected to the lower end of the inner telescoping member, an elastic band connected at its ends to said connecting elements respectively, said first connecting element comprising a wire bent into a loop to which said elastic is connected, a pair of arms connected to said rod, and a pair of humps engaging the outer edge of said air chamber,
8. A toy comprising a pair of telescoping members, an air chamber in the outer end of the outer member, a musical element in the inner end of said air chamber, the outer end of said chamber being provided'with openings, a rod extending diametrically through the outer part of said air chamber on which the toy is turnably jonrnaled, a handle on said rod, a connecting element connected to said rod, a connecting element connected to the lower end of the inner telescoping mem her, an elastic band connected at its ends to said connecting elements respectively, said second connecting element comprising a wire bent into a loop, a pair of main members embracing the lower end of the inner telescoping member, one of said main members extending under the other main member, humps on the ends of said main members and prongs extending from said humps and sticking into said member, the elastic being connected to said loop.
