IM PROVEMENT IN SAW-SETS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 153,585, dated July 28, 1874 application filed April 3, 1874.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ENOOH him, of the county of Vanderburg, State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Saw-Sets, of which the following is a specification:

The object of this invention is to furnish a simple and efiective device for setting the teeth of saws; and it consists in the special combination and arrangement of parts, as will hereinafter be described and claimed.

The frame A is provided on the under side with a tenon or post, H, by which it can be screwed in a vise or a square hole in the workbench. A curved arm, T, extending from the right-hand side of the frame A, and overhanging the rest 0, has pivoted at or nearthe end a lever, B, held in position by a nut, E. The lever B carries a screw, G, to clamp and hold the saw-blade firmly in position on the rest 8; 5

while the bit 0, adjustable in a slot formed in the lever B, bends down the tooth of the saw, the degree to which the bend is carried being regulated by a set-screw, 1), located in the path of the lever. A gage, F, is arranged to determine the position of the saw on the rest. It is forked, as shown in Fig. 2, to receive the points of the teeth on each side of the one be ing operated upon.

The combination and arrangement, as herein described, of the frame A provided with base H and arm T, lever B, bit 0, and set-screws G D, as and for the purpose specified.
