IMPROVEMENT IN DOOR-PULLS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 153,490, dated July 28, 1874; application filed 4 January 30, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I. ALBERT D. JUDD, of New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented an Improvement in Handles for Doors, of which the following is a specification:
Handles connected with a metal plate, sometimes called .door-pulls, have usually been made with screws or rivets connecting the ends of the handle to the plate, but with cast iron a separate rivet or screw is necessary.
The object of my invention is to connect the handle to the plate by interlocking lips that are retained in contact by the attach in gscrews, so that the parts can be cast and finished up separately and put together immediately before use. This effects saving in the manufac ture, lessens the space occupied in transportation, and allows the parts to be put together with the handle inclining in either direction from the plate to suit a right or left hand door.
In the drawing, Figure 1 is an elevation of the back of the plate and handle, and Fig. 2 is a sectional plan through the interlocking lip.

I claim as my invention- The handle a and arms I), in combination with the plate c,interlocking lips 0, and flanges r, for the screws or their equivalents, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
