FIGURE TOY.

To all whom t may concern:

Be it known that I, Bonn BAKER, a citizen ot the United States, residing at Minneapolis, in the county ot Hennepin and State et Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Figure rloys; and l do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description ot the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

My invention provides an amusing toy, wl -ch comprises an oscillatory toy punching bag and a toy ligure arranged to punch the said toy bag. The toy lignreis preferably made to represent a boxing kangaroo and is jniovided with a long and heavy projecting tail portion serving as a weight to normally hold the toy .tigure retracted from the punching bag.

the toy punching bag maybe ot any suitable material, but preferably ot a quite heavy material, such as wood, and at its npper end, it is provided with a screw eye 5 that is loosely connected to an eye G formed in the top portion ot a yoke-like pedestal 7, the lower ends ot the legs oit which, as shown` are rigidly connected to a base block 8 by clanipingdevices 9 ot' the binding post type. f

The numeral l indicates the body oit a toy ligure, which, as stated, is preferably made to represent a. boxing kangaroo and is provided with a long` heavy tail portion 1l that serves as a counterweight. rlhe lower portion ot' the Figure l0 is pivotally connected by a bolt l2 to a pronged bracket 13 rigidly secured to the base block 8. The bolt or rivet l5 will he tightened so that the arms lll will not freely swing or accidentally move, but may be pivotally adjusted so that they will properly strike against the toy punching bag et.. An operating cord i6 is attached to the intermediate ilfront poi-- tion ot vthe toy body by an eye holt 1T. lWhen the cord i6 is quickly jerked, the toy Figure l0 will be oscillated on its pivot i2, thereby causing the large ends ot the arms let to strike the punching bag '-l much in imitation ot an actual bag-punching action. In the .device illustrated, the toy figure being a kangaroo, its arms are not set to `treely swing, ybut said arms may he loosened, it' desired, and set tree 't'or a swingingl action. fr very amusing` action may be produced by imparting a quick succession ot jerks to the operating cord.

The toy figure may be made trom wood or any other suitable material. The base block 8 may be fastened to any suitable support,`

A toy comprising n base, a yoke-like pedestal secured to and vrising from said base, a toy punch bag loosely hungtroni the upper transverse portion of said pedestal. a to)r ligure pivoted to said hase and having arms arranged to engage said punch bag, said toy ligure having a forwardly projecting :toot portion limiting the'inovement o'l' the said ligure toward the punch bag. and having'r a heavy outwardly projecting tail portion serving as a weight normally holding said gure retracted from the punch bag, und an operating cord attached to said toy figure.
