Be it known that I, Ransom Y. Bovnn, a
citizen of the United States, residing at Maywood, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Folding Combination Toilet Articles, of'which the following is a specification.
This application is a division of my original application Serial No. 565354, filed June 2, 1922, and the present invention relates more articularly to an improved article of this 0 aracter embodying a plurality of toilet articlesall adapted to be compactly folded into a casin when not in' use, and which casing embo es a portion which is adapted to be employed for containing memorandum sheets or to constitute a storage compartment for postage stamps and the like, the sheets being detachably secured in position so that they may be removed when desired and additional sheets replaced.
To the attainment of these ends and the accomplishment of'other new and useful objects as will ap ear, the invention consists in the features 0 novelty in substantially the construction, combination and arrangement 'of the several parts hereinafter more fully described and claimed and shown in the accompanying drawing illustrating this invention, and in which v Figure 1 is a view in elevation of one slde of a device of this character, showing the articles in a partially unfolded position with respect to the casing.

' end of the casing, are a (plurality of toilet articles 14, 15, 16, 17 an '18, all of which are adapted to be independently folded into and out of the casing.
The wall 19 of the casing is rovided with a receptacle 20 open through t e face thereof, of a considerable area and is adapted to receive cards or sheets 21, which may be independently removed or detached. These cards or sheets may be formed of any suitable material so as to serve as memoranda sheets or. for the storage of postage stamps or the like therebetween. An additional sheet 22', preferably constructed of celluloid or similar material is arranged in the receptacle 20 and serves as a cover for the sheets 21 and also for the purpose of receiving memoranda which latter may-be erased from the sheet when desired. All of the sheets are detachably secured within the receptacle 20 by means of lugs 23 having heads thereon, and which lugs are preferably formed from the bottom of the compartment and engage in suitable apertures 24 in the cards or sheets. The lugs 23 are preferably located at one end of the compartment 20 and the cards or sheets are preferably of a width somewhat less than the width of the receptacle 20, so as to form a pencil holding compartment or space 25, in which a pencil 26 is adapted to be held. The pencil is held against displacement by means of tongues 27, preferably formed from the bottom of the receptacle and bent into sha e, and an opposed spring tongue 28 is also ormed preferably from the bottom of the receptacle and arranged intermediate the tongues 27 to co-operate therewith for yieldingly engaging the pencil and for removably securing the pencil in the receptar ole 20.

The implements 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 are adapted to be folded into and out of casing 10 without interfering with the compartment 20, the closure, or the contents thereof.
When it is desired, the closure 30 may be opened to permit access to the compartment 20, while all, of the implements 'are in a folded osition with respect to the case 10.
It w1 be manifest that with this improved construction -a compact device will be provided and the contents of the receptacle 20 may serve for memoranda purposes, access being readily had thereto without interfering w1th any of the other parts of the device.
The pencil 26 may be readily removed for use and as readily replaced and the sheets 21 and 22 may also be readil removed when desired, or portions of the s eets 21 may be detached without detaching the other sheets.
While the preferred form of the invention has been herein shown and described it is to be understood that various changes may be made in the details of construetlon, and in the combination and arrangement of the sev-' eral parts, within the see of the claims, without departing from t e spirit of this invention.
What is claimed asnew is 1. An article of the character described embod ing a casing, a plurality of articles pivot y connected therewith and adapted to be folded into and out of the casing, a portion of onewall being shaped to form an open receptacle, one or more upstanding lugs integral with and formed from a portion of the casing wall and disposed within the receptacle, cards or sheets detachably engaging the lugs and disposed within the receptacle, and a closure for the receptacle.

An article of the character described embodying a casing, a plurality of articles pivotally connected therewith and adapted to be folded into and out of the casing, a portion of one wall being shaped to form an open receptacle, one or more upstanding lugs integral with and formed from a portion of the casing wall and disposed within the receptacle, cards or sheets detachably engaging the lugs and disposed within the receptacle, a closure for the receptacle, and a calendar carried by the closure.

An article of the character described 'embod ing a casin a plurality of articles pivota ly connecte therewith and adapted to be folded into and out of the casing, a portion of one wall being shaped to form an open receptacle, one or more upstanding lugs integral with and formed from a portion of the casing wall and disposed within the receptacle, cards or sheets detachably engagin the lugs and disposed within the receptac e, a pencil holder within the receptacle, and a closure for the receptacle.

An article of the character described embodying a casin a plurality of articles pivota ly connecte therewith and adapted to be folded into and out of the casing, a portion of one wall being shaped to-form an open receptacle, one or more upstanding lugs integral with and formed from a portion'of the casing wall and disposed within the receptacle, cards or sheets detachably engagin the lugs and disposed within the receptac e, a pencil holder withinthe rceptacle, and a c osure for the receptacle, said pencil holder being termed by opposed sprin lip portions.

An article of the character described embodying a casing, a portion of one wall being shaped to form an open receptacle, one or more upstanding headed lugs formed from a portion of the bottom of the receptacle and disposed within the receptacle, cards or sheets detachably engaging the headed lugs and disposed within the receptacle, one
or more additional and opposed spring lip portions disposed within the receptacle for holding a pencil, a closure for the receptacle, and means on the closure co-operating with one of the said spring lips, constituting a fastening for the closure.
