By this construction the outer wall combines with the inner wall to provide a pocket having an opening 'O facing in one direction while. the lock piece 12 and that portion of the outer wall lying beneath the lock piece within the pocket coinbine with the linner wall'to'provide a pocket having an opening O of greaterv vertical length than thejpoclret opening O and open ing in the opposite direction from the pocket opening O.

With this type of pocket where tools and heavy implements such as rules, pliers and the like are to be inserted in the pocket it is, of course, desirous that the pocket be re inforced at its lower end at the point where the pliers or rule rest. Where this reinforcing is applied interiorly, as indicated at 23 in Figures 4 and 5, and is secured to the outer wall of the pocket by stitching 211. I

, preferably terminate .this reinforcement at the height at which the transverse connection 21 between the outer wall and the lock occurs and employ this stitching 24 to provide such connection. I have hereinbefore stated. that the outer wall 11 of the pocket can be formed ofA one or more pieces lof material. It will, of course,

he. obvious that, as indicated by the sectional View in-Figures t and 8, this saine stitching 25 in addition to securing the lock to the outer wall may be employed to secure the upper edge of a reinforcing strip 23 within the pocket at the lower end thereof. It will be noted that with the' constructions hereiiibefore set forth it is unnecessary that the lock be continued to the end of the pocket and that the effect of a lock so continued is provided. It will furthermore be notedvthat a pocket which'is relatively wide at `its up here-inbefore set forth except as hereinafterf claimed.

I claim 1.
