IMPROVEMENT IN HAME-STAPLES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 152,931, dated July 14, 1874 g application iled April 3, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES THORNTON, of Wellsville, in the county of Allegany and State of New York, have invented a certain Improvement in Haine-Staples, of which the following is av specification My invention consists of a new and improved haine-staple as an article of manufacture, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.

A is the llame, B the llame-staple proper, and b a cross-bar, connecting the two legs of the staple in front, and bent outward so as to form a loop, with which a snap-hook of a holdback-strap may directly engage.
