To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN T. SoULLY, a citizen of the United States, residing at 121 Madison Ave, in the county of New York I and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in -Razors, of
which. the following is a specification.
In carrying out the present invention it is my purpose to provide a rotary razor which may be operated with ease and facility and which will embody comparatively few parts and these so arranged and c0- related as to reduce the possibility of devrangement to a minimum.
It is also my purpose to improve and simphfy the general construction of rotary ra-' zors and to provide a rotary razor which may be manufactured and marketed at small cost;
With the above recited objects in view, and others of a similar nature, the invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts set forth in and falling within the scope of the appended claims.

Referring now to the drawings in detail. 1 indicatesa rigid shaft rotatably mounted at one end in a. handle 2 and connected at such end with one end of a flexible driving shaft 3 that extends through the handle 2. Mounted upon the shaft 1 is a double edged cylindrical razor blade 4 comprising, in the present instance, companion longitudinal sections 5, 5", having their respective outer ends formed with end pieces 6, 6, provided with alining openings ,7-through which the shaft 1 extends- The confronting edgesof the sections are cut on the bias, as at 8, and are formed respectively with a razor edge 9 and guard fingers 10 that underlie the razor edge 9 in order to provide a safety factor in the use of the razor. I
The ends of the longitudinal sections 5, 5 terminate in junta-position to the adjacent end pieces 6, 6, respectively, and fixed to the shaft 1 within the cylinder-like razor blade are annular blocks 11 which act as supports for the blade portions of the sections 5, 5 and are suitably spaced apart for this purpose.
On the outer end of the shaft 1 is a head 12 that fits into a depression 13 in the adjacent end piece 6 while surrounding the shaft adjacent to the other end piece is a sleeve 14 and threaded on the shaft and engageable with the sleeve is a nut 15 by which the sleeve 14 may be forced into engagement with the adjacent end piece to clamp the sections 5, 5 in proper relative positions between the sleeve and thehead 12 and hold said sections in razor formation.
In practice, my improved razor is held by the handle'Qand in the operation of the driving shaft'3, motion is imparted to the rigid shaft 1, which, in turn, revolves the cylindrical razor blade 4 fixed upon the rigid shaft. Owing to the fact that the razor edges 9 are cut on a bias. a proper cutting action is produced in the .use ofthe razor.
While I have herein shown and described one preferred form of my invention by way of illustration, I wish it to be understood that I do'not limit or confine myself to the precise details of construction herein described and delineated. as modifications and variations may be made within the scope of the claims and without departing from the spirit ofimy invention.

what is claimed as new, is 2- 1. A rotary razor comprising a shaft, a
cylindrical razor blade surrounding said respectively with a cutting edge and guard fingers underlying said cutting edge and means for holding said sections on said shaft/in razor blade formation.
21A rotary razor comprising a shaft, a cylindrical razor blade surrounding said shaft and comprising companion longitudinal sections having their confronting edges cut on a bias and spaced apart and formed respectively with a cutting edge and guard fingers-underlying said cutting edge. means for holding said sections on said shaft in razor blade formation, said means comprising end pieces on said sections, respectively, a head on one end of said shaft engaging the adjacent end piece, a sleeve on said shaft adjacent to the other end piece and a nut threaded on said shaft engageable with said sleeve to clamp said sections in proper relative positions.
3. A rotary razor comprising a shaft, a cylindrical razor blade surrounding said shaft and comprising companion longitudinal sections having their confronting edges cut on a bias and spaced apart and formed, respectively, with a cutting edge and guard fingers, the guard fingers of one section underlying the cutting edge of the other section, means for holding said sections on said shaft in razor blade formation and annular blocks Within the space defined by said sections spaced apart and in fixed relation to one another, whereby said blades may be maintained in proper relative positions.
