Definitions
- the present invention relates to improvements in holders for ornamental pieces such as watches, medals and the like, which are to be exhibited in sliopfronts, on tables and so on.
- the improved holder is characterized by the fact that the carrier for the piece to be exhibited, which is pivotally mounted on a base frame, is constituted by a. rocking spring fork with supporting members on its ends and its middle part to allow of introduction of pieces of different size, in combination with one or more motive springs arranged to elastically urge the said carrier to upright position, regulable i'neans being provided to stop the carrier in any desired exposure position.
- Figure l is a. side elevation of the preferred form
- Figure 2 is a corresponding front view
- Figure 3 is a section on line A-B of Figure 2;
- Figure 4 is a partial side elevation as seen from the opposite side with respect to Figure l;
- Figure 5 shows by side elevation the second embodiment wherein the holder is enclosed within a cover closed box or case.
- the holder comprises a frame or base l formed of a metallic plate and on which is mounted a rocking shaft 2 having its ends 2 supported in bearings 3 fixed on said plate.
- a W-like curved carrying fork 5 of steel wire or the like, the branches of which constitute relatively long spring grippers tending to approach one another.
- the free ends of the grippers as Well as the centre loop-like part of the fork are provided with supporting knobs 6.
- the said spring grippers hold the watch 7 between their knobs which is further supported by the knob of the loop like centre part of the fork.
- This spring 8 ias an initial tension so that it has the tendency of turning the shaft 2 in the direction of the arrow shown in Figure l, in order to urge the watch carrier 5, 6 to an upright position, ⁇ as shown in the drawing.
- the upright position of the watch carrier is determined by a stop screw 9 extending transversely through the shaft 2 so as to contact with the base plate and to thus limit the angular position of the watch carrier.
- the screw 9 allows of regulating or varying this position; thus when the screw s turned backward, the carrier is allowed to take a steeper position under the action of the spring 8.
- the invention can be performed in inanifold ways.
- the spring 8 and the stop screw 9 could be replaced by equivalent means, such as one or more flatsprings and a simple clamping screw.
- One and the same holder could be provided with a plurality of carriers mounted on a common rocking shaft and each of which would carry a watch or thel like.
- the forni of the carrier is advantageously adapted to that of the watch or other piece to be exhibited.
- the carrier may have the form of a frame.
- the carrier When being used with watches, medals, bracelets and the like, the carrier can be rotatably arranged upon the shaft 2 so as o be able of being presented on all faces to the purchaser, a transverse pivot arrangement l0 (Fig. 5) being provided to this end.
- a holder for ornamental pieces comprising a movable carrying spring fork for the piece to be held, a rocking shaft carryng said fork, spring means to urge said tion and means to stop the same in a deter mined exposure position.
