IMPROVEMENT IN WINDOW BRACKETS AND SHELVES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 152,207, dated June 16, 1574 application tiled February 19, 1874.

The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a bracket to be attached to a window-sash for supporting a shelf for flower-pots, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and usc the same, I will nor proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring` to the annexed drawing, in which- A represents a vertical bar of any suitable dimensions, provided at its upper end with a short arm, B, extending toward the rear at right angles. At the front end of the arm B is hinged an arm, C, and at theouter end of this arm is hinged a brace, l). At the lower end ot' the brace D is formed or attached au upward and inward projecting hook, a, which is to catch upon a hook, b, formed on or attached to the vertical bar A. The hook b is at such a height on the bar A that when thc brace D is hooked in the same the arm C will be on a line with the stationary arm B that is, at right angles with the bar A, or in a horizontal position. The bar A is to be placed against the side rail of the lower windowsash, the arm B resting upon the top rail thereof, and fastened by a single brad or short nail. One of these brackets being on cach side, a shelf may be supported upon the arms c c, to receive iiower-pots. This bracket may be adjusted and used at any other places where it can be applied.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claiin as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The bar A, provided at its top with stationary arm B, and upon its lower side with hook I), in combination with hinged arm G and hinged brace D, all constructed and arranged as and for the purpose set forth.
