Description

L. J. PRIBATscH Nov. 11, 1924.
PLOW
Filed Oct. 18 1923 Patented Nov. 11, 1924.
u' ,T TES LEON J. PRIEBATSCH, F BROOKHAVEN, MISSISSIPPI.
PLOW.
Application led. October 18, 1923. Serial No. 669,373.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, LEON J. IniEnATsoH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brookhaven, in the county of Lincoln and State of Mississippi, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Flows, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in plows.
An important object of the invention is to prom'de a plow of improved construction and whereby the beam and standard are separable.
A further object of the invention is to provide a plow in which parts may be ref placed if worn or broken, without the expense of securing an entire new plow.
Other objects and advantages of this invention will be apparent during the course of the following description.
In the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification and in which like numerals are employed to designate like parts throughout the same:
Figure 1 is a side elevation of the assembled plow,
Figure 2 is a side elevation looking at the inside of the landside,
Figure 3 is a sectional view taken on line ,3-3 of Figure 1, and
Figure L1 is a partial perspective view of the plo-w beam.
In the accompanying drawing, wherein for the purpose of illustratie-n is shown the preferred embodiment of my invention, the
numeral designates a plow beam of conimonly used construction, the lower eX- tremity thereof carrying a projecting lug 11 for enga ement ith a standard. usual form o standar 12 has a rectangular opening 13 formed therein for engaging the lug'11, a right-angled bracing shoulder 14 being formed on said standard below the opening 13. 'Ihe standard 12 also is provided with bolt holes 15 which receive the bolts for securing the plow beam. The inner face of the landside is cut away as at 16 to receive a handle beam 17, a bolt hole 18 being drilled therein for the purpose of securing the handle beam to the standard.
In assembling the device, the plo-w beam l() is positioned against the bracing shoulder 14 and the lug 11 fitted into the opening 13. A pair of bolts 19 are then inserted through the openings 20 in the plow beam and open- 55 ings 15 in the standard, the nuts 21 being tightened and the beam being securely fastened in place. Upon the beam/becoming broken or perhaps some part of the standard, it is obvious that the device may be G0' quickly and easily taken apart or assembled.
It is to be understood that the form of my invention herewith shown and described is to be taken as the preferred example of the same, and that various changes in the shape, size, and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of my invention or the scope of the subjoined claims.
Having thus described my invention, I claim: h
1. A device of the character described comprising the combination of a plow beam having a projecting lug formed onthe lower extremity thereof, and a standard having a rectangular opening formed therein, a bracing shoulder formed thereon, and means for securing the beam to the standard.
2. The combination of a plow beam, a projecting lug formed on said plow beam, a so standard having a rectangular opening for receiving the beam lug, a bracing Shoulder for strengthening the connection of the plow beam and standard, a plurality kof bolt holes formed in the standard, and bolts for se- S5 curing the0 plow beam to the standard.
3. The combination of a plow beam, a projecting lug formed on said plow beam,
a standard having a receiving portion A formed therein for receiving the said lug,
a bracing shoulder formed on the standard, and means for rigidly securing the plow beam to the standard.
4. The combination with a plow beam, a projecting lug formed on one side of the plow beam, and a standard having an opening therein for receiving the projecting lug, means formed on the standard for ybracing the beam, and a plurality of bolts and nuts for securing the beam to the standard.
5. The combination with a plow beam, a tapered lug formed on one side of the plov,7
beam, e. standard having a tapered opelnng1 n testimony whereof, I have ahxed. nn' formed therein for recelvlng the projecting slgnature 1n the presence of two Wltnesses.
lug, a right-angled shoulder formed on the standard for supporting the plofw beann bolt LEQN J' PRIEBATSCH holes formeel in the standard, und a plurality IWitnesses: of bolts for .Securing :the :plow beam to the M. A.. R. WALKER,
standard. S. A, WALKER.
