l Be it known that I, ineens B. Hennie, a citizen of the United States, residing et St. Charles, in the county oflliene and state of Illinois, have invented certain new end useful Improvements in Cigarette Trays, et which the following is e spcciiicetion.

Ylhe purpose ot this invention is to provide an improved tray or container adapted to hold cigars or cigarettes and to receive the butts and ashes thereof. The principal oloject of the invention is to provide u tray in which the ashes of the lcigars or cigarettes are contained within a substantially closed chamber', so that. the `burningr remnants are automatically extinguished and the ashes are prevented from hlmvingahout. The invention comprises a howl having a removable cover which is provided with an uperture to receive the ashes and the butts of the cigars or cigarettes, and an important feature of the invention lies in the provision of au auxiliary ash receiving trough in the cover in combination with rihs or Hongos adapted to hold the cigars or cigarettes hetore they have 'been consumed. y

Other objects ot the invention will appear more clearly from thedollowing spccication, taken with the accompanying drawings, in which one embodiment is illustrated.

The invention comprises e bowl 10 oi' brass or the like, the outer surface of which is preferably enameled or painted and furnished with en artistic design. The outer wells ot the bowl 10 are cylindrical, und they con verge downwardly towerd the bottom 10a which is concaved upwardly, es shown, so that the howl has en annular contacting line or surface 10b adapted to rest on a table or'deslt. A cover 11 is detachahly mounted upon the up er end of the howl 10., being provided wit an annular flange 12 which extends downwardly around the outer wallet the howl. The cover is curved upwardly from the flange 12, forming a rib 13, and within this rib the cover is provided with am annular depression or trough 14. The inner wall of the depression 14 is inclined upwardly and is connected to a downwardly converging el 15 in the form of an inverted contents of the howl.

Althouoh I have shown and described a 'single cmhodiment ot the invention for purposes of illustration, it will ce understood that it may he constructed in various other forms without departing trom the scope of the appended claims.

What I claim is;

1. The combination in a device oi the class described of a howl, end o removable cover therefor, said cover being' provided with a. downwardly extending tunnel and u pair of uunular ribs between said funnel and the circumference ot said cover.

2. A device of the class described comprising o howl and c cover detachahly mounted on lthe upper end of said howl, said cover heilig provided with au annular rib and a cone-sha. ed funnel portion snrroundcd by said rili and extending dovro- Wordly therefrom, said cover heilig further provided with an annular trough around said rib and a second annular. rib adjacent the outer edge of said cover.
