To all whom Iit may concern:
Be it known that I, GLAaKsoN BANoaoFr, ot' Brooklyn, Kings county, New York, have invented a new and Improved Dentists7 Coffer-Dam Clamp, of which the following' is a specification:
My invention consists of a tongue holder and guard combined wi th the coft'er-dam clamp in such a way that the clamp supports it in a manner calculated to be ot great service in keeping the tongue of the patient away from the tooth during the lling or other process of treatment, and in protecting the tongue from injury by the tools-particularly the revolving corundum-wheels, now largely usedand also the burrs, a-nd the like.
Figure l is a plan view of my improved clamp and tongue-guard, and Fig. 2 is a front elevation.

A represents the jaws of the clamp for griping the tooth and binding the rubber Cotterdam upon it. These jaws I form on the edges of steel plates, B, about as wide as will allow of applying to tetth of different sizes, and
widening eaeh way from the clamp backward a suitable distance for strength; and the ends ot' the outer edges are connected by the bowsprings O, which rise sui'iciently high to extend over the top of the teeth; also to allow of introducing' the tool under them to work at the tooth, it' necessary; and they are also sut'- iciently wide apart to allow of applying the Y GLARKSON BANOROFT.
