the hair maybe crimped or waved in order to produce a pleasing effect, the device being light, simple and effective and adapted to be worn without inconvenience, discomfort or. producing an untidy appearance.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent and suggest themselves as the nature of the invention is understood.
While the drawings illustrate an embodiment of the invention it is to be understood that in adapting the same to meet different conditions and requirements, various changes in the form, proportion and minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention. I
Referring to the accompanying drawings forming a part of the application:
Figure l is a side view of the device showing the same applied,
Figure 2 is a front view, and
-Figure 3 is a diagrammatic view, the outer ends of the crimping elements being broken away.
Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the following description and desig nated in the several views of the drawings by like reference characters. 7 I
The device comprises a head strap 1 and a plurality of crimping elements 2, the several parts 1 and preferably consisting of elastic straps, the strap 1 being broad and stout, whereas the straps 2 are narrow and light. The head strap 1 is reinforced at its ends, as indicated at 3, this being accom-' plished by folding end portions of the strap and stitching the same. A clasp l is provided at one end of the head strap 1 and is adapted to secure the crimping elements 2 in the required adjusted position.
The crimping elements 2 are attached at one end to a reinforced end of the head strap 1 and diverge and are adapted to be.
adjustably connected to the opposite end of the head strap 1 by means ofthe clasp l. This is shown-most clearly in Figure 1.
In practice, the hair is preferably dressed in pompadour and gathered at the back in a Psyche knot, after which the device is placed in position by engaging the strap about the back of the head below the Psyche knot and passing the strap 2 over the head so as to engage thehair at different points.
The loose endsof the stra s 2 are en a ed with the clasp a and said straps are drawn so as to compress the hair whereby to produce the crimp or. Marcel wave effect. Ob-
viously the hair may be dampened and the device worn until the crimp or wave effect is produced, after which the device is removed.v
