The object of the invention is to provide a device of this character constructed so that the depression of a button will operate to parts of the toy which are spring returne Another object is to provide a cheaply constructed toy of this character which will afford amusement for children and which is comparatively strong and not easily broken. With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description 'proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed may be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.

The invention is herein shown in the form of a doll 1, although obviously it may be embodied in any other animal or object.

A transverse bore 8 leads from the chamber 5 and opens through the rear portion of the body having an upwardl extending enlargement 9 as shown clear y in'Fig. 2 in which enlargement the actuating push button 20 is designed to operate.

The lower end of the body 2 has'spaced leg receiving sockets 10 in which legs 11 are mounted to rotate and be held in adjusted position by friction. These legs 11 are equipped at their lower ends with fiat feet 12 designed to support the doll in upright position.

Two passages 21 and 22 extend upwardly from the chamber 5 and diverge, mer mg at their upper ends into the transverse ore 7 near its outer ends and in which are mounted for longitudinal movement, rods 23 and 24 loosely connected at their upper ends with eyes 13 carried by the inner ends of the arms 13 while their lower ends have eyes 25 loosely connected with the inner end of the lever 17.

A coiled spring 27 is mounted on the uper end of the rod 16 in the chamber 6 and is connected at one end with a button 15 and bears at its other end against the lower end -wall of chamber 6 so that when the rod 16 is moved longitudinally downward, this spring will be com ressed and simultaneously the hair 14 wi 1 be lifted as shown 1n dotted lines in Fig. 1.
