To all whom it may concern:
Be it knownthat 1, CHARLES L. BRALEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Chicago, county of Cook, State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Conveyers and Hangers, of which the following-is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in conveyers and hangers.
The main objects of this invention are to provide an improved conveyer and hanger for use in ,laundries for suspending and'conveying bags and the like.
Further objects, and objects relating to structural details, will definitely appear fromthe detailed description to follow.
Iaccomplish the objects of my invention by the devices andmeans described in the following specification. The invention is clearly defined and pointed out in the claims.

Referring to. the drawing, the track 1 comprises the top :2,..sides ,3, the lower edges of the sides being turned inwardly orhaving inturned flanges thereon to provide rails-e for thefianges ofthe flangedroller 5. This flanged roller ,is a comparatively close or travelling fit within the track. The track is suspended from the rods 6, clips 7 being disposed over the rods an-d -provided .wi'th hooked liangerbolt-s 8 engaging under the flange or, rails. of the track.
I provide a yoke-like :hanger 9 having a shank 10 provided with ia fcollar 11 embracing the center portion 12 ofthe roller, as shown in Fig. I. Qnone armor the yoke 9 isa-fixedj aw block 13having an upwardly inclined face 14:. A'pivoted jaw l5z-having an inclined face is provided to coact with the jaw 18 'in gripping a bag, as 17. The bag is introduced or pushedup between the jaws and a downward pull on the bag causes the jaws to ,grip the bag and the weight of the bag causes the jaws to grip more firmly upon the bag.
lVhen-the apparatus is to be used in laundries the jaws areprefenably of wood.
The track 11 is provided with an opening 18 in the top ,andoneside adapted to receive the roller when it is presented sidewise thereto, the rails on the openside being 'cut awayiat 19 to receivetlie shank 10. This permits the introduction o'fzthe carriers at different points along the track, no regard being paid in the drawingsto-theiproper location of the openings, but it will be understood thatthey mayzbepositioned as desired.
To permit the delivery of :the hangers or carrier from the ends. ofthe track, one by one I provide a stop'means consisting of ;a pair ot-stop members 20 extending through openings in the top :of-the track so as to project in the pathofitheyrai'ls. Theserstop membersare pivotal-1y mounted at 21 onthe lever 22 pivoted at 23 :on the supporting bracket 24 mounted :on the track. "When thelever is in the position o lindioa'ted by dotted; lines it permits one :of the hangers 'or carriers to roll 01? or be withdrawn from the track, the succeeding "carrier, however, being retained. by the second stop.
With this arrangement of parts I provide means for conveying bags and the like which are particularly desirable for use in ,laundr-ies, for which u-r ose-the structure illustrated is designed. idyiimprovements may, however, be used to advantage in various relations.

2. In a structure of the class described, the combination of a track comprising top and side members, the side members having inturned flanges at their lower edges providing spaced rails, a flanged roller adapted to travel on said rails, said roller being a travelling lit in said track, a yoke shaped hanger provided with a shank at its bight end, said shank naving a collar engaging said roller between its flanges, said track having an opening in one side and the top thereof, permitting the introduction of said roller when presented sidewise thereto, the rail being also cut away to receive said hanger shank, a fixed jaw mounted on one arm of said yoke, and a coacting jaw pivoted on the other arm of said hanger whereby an article introduced between said jaws is gripped by a downward pull thereon.

In a structure of the class described, the combination of a track comprising top and side members, the side members having inturned flanges at their lower edges providing spaced rails, a flanged collar adapted to travel on said rails, said roller being a travelling fit in said track, a yoke shaped hanger provided with a shank at its bight end, said shank having a collar engaging said roller between its flanges, a fixed jaw mounted on one arm of said yoke, a coacting jaw pivoted on the other arm of said hanger, whereby an article introduced between said jaws is gripped by a downward pull thereon, a stop lever pivotally mounted on said track, and a pair of stops pivot-ally mounted on said lever on the opposite side of its supporting pivot to reciprocate through the top of the track.

In a structure of the class described, the combination of a track comprising top and side members, the side members having inturned flanges at their lower edges providing spaced rails, a flanged roller adapted to travel on said rails, said roller being a travelling fit in said track, a yoke shaped hanger provided with a shank at its bight end, said shank having a collar engaging said roller between its flanges, a fixed jaw mounted on one arm of said yoke, and a coacting pivoted on the other arm of said hanger, whereby an article introduced between said jaws is gripped by a downward pull thereon.
5. In a structure of the class described, the combination of a track comprising integral top and side members, the side members having inturned flanges at their lower edges providing spaced rails, a flanged roller adapted to travel on said rails, said roller being a travelling fit in said track, a hanger provided with a shank engaging said roller between its flanges, said track having an opening in one side and the top thereof, permitting the introduction of said roller when presented sidewise thereto, the rail being also cut away to receive said hanger shan r, a stop lever pivotally mounted on said track, and a pair of stops pivotally mounted on opposite side of its supporting pivot to reciprocate through the top of the track.

In a structure of the class described, the combination of a track comprising integral top and side members, the side members having inturned flanges at their lower edges providing spaced rails, a flanged roller adapted to travel on said rails, said roller be ing a travelling fit in said track, and a hanger provided with a shank engaging said roller between its flanges, said track having an opening in one side and the top thereof, permitting the introduction of said roller when presented sidewise thereto, the rail being also cut away to receive said hanger shank.

In a structure of the class described, the combination of a track comprising integral top and side members, the side members having inturned flanges at their lower edges providing spaced rails, a flanged roller adapted to travel on said rails, said roller being a travelling fit in said track, a hanger provided with a shank engaging said roller between its flanges, and a stop lever pivotally mounted on said track, and a pair of stops pivotally mounted on said lever on opposite side of its supporting pivot to reciprocate through the top of the track.

In a structure of the class described, the combination with a track comprising spaced rails, a roller traveling on said rails, a hanger provided with a shank engaging said roller between said rails, a pivotally mounted stop lever, and stops mounted on said lever one at each side of its pivot so that they are alternately projected into the path of the hangers traveling on the track.

In a structure of the class described, the combination of a closed track, a roller adapted to travel in said track, a hanger carried by said roller, a pivoted stop lever, and a pair of stops pivotally mounted on said lever on opposite sides of its pivot to be alternately projected into the path of the hangers traveling on the track so that the hangers may be successively delivered from the end of the track.

In a structure of the class described, the combination of an inclined track, a roller traveling on said track, a hanger carried by said roller, and stop means comprising a pair of stops alternately projected into the path of the rollers whereby the hangers are successively delivered from the track.

In a structure of the class described, the combination of a track comprising top and side members, the side members having inturned flanges at their lower edges providing spaced rails, a roller adapted to travel on said rails, a hanger provided with a shank engaging said roller between said rails, said track having an opening at one side and the top thereof, permitting the introduction of said roller when presented sidewise thereto and the disposition of the shank between the rails, and means for controlling the discharge of the rollers at the end of the track.
12. In a structure of the class described, the combination of a track comprising top and side members, the side members having inturned flanges at their lower edges providing spaced rails, a roller adapted to travel on said rails, and a hanger provided with a shank engaging said roller between said rails, said track having an opening at one side and the top thereof, permitting the introduction of said roller when presented sidewise thereto and the disposition of the shank between the rails.
