HAR-RY A. T'IRQQ, OF CHICLG, ILLNOI.
CRTN FIXTURE.
Application led March 29, l22, Serial No. 547,586. Renewed January 31, 1924.
To all whom i? may cof/ifro: sharpened projection S at 4each corner.
lie it known that l, Hanni' iliioaoox, a citizen ot the ilnited residing at J(bic in the coiinti,7 ot' @ook and Sta-te o1' illinois.y have invented certain new aud ioiirovenrnts io Curtain Fixtures.
nl i et Whir-ii the 'following is a speciication.
li'iv invention relates to curtain ipintures and 'has tor one et its objects the provision oit :i si 'iple and oiiicient device for holding' rains, draperies and the like tor doive.
fi Vfurther object is the provision ci? a siniiile and eflicient curtain support which can be easily.;v and quicll)V applied to a Window casing' and curtain. l
A still 'further object is the provision 0i a simple and eiiicient holder in the torni of stamping havingineens tor quichiy and "asilj/ attaching' ,it to a Window casing and a means tor quickly to a curtain.
Other objects will appear hereinatter.
sin embodiment ot ingr invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing tormins; a partoit this speci'lication. in Which- -`l is a raginental View oiE a Window casini/e' and curtain with a curtain siijport ;inbod},1ing my invention Fing. 2 is a similar vieiv showing niv iinproved support applied in a diierent posi tion: and
Fie'. 3 is au enlarged view in perspective ole one ot inv improved curtain. supports with a curtain supporting); member attached thereto.
Pieter-ring more particularly to the drawiiirj. l have indicated a fragment oi a Windoiv casinad Lland o fragment ot a curtain stretched across the sides or" the Window casino'. The curtain 5 is intended to represent aiiv desirable sort of curtainj Winther a sash curtain which is attached to oni;7 a part oit the casing. or anv other kind ot curtain. Such curtains usually have a loop at their tons through which a tieXible member 6 is oassed to support them, Tl
and easil7 attaching ie ends ot the ineniber (i are usually attached to the traine -fisome manner.
y improved device consists ot stamping' i". or other body, having pluralityT ot prongs 8 bv means of which 1t is attached to the trame 4. in the ,torni of inv invention shown l havo'indicated the plate 7 as being* substantially rectangular with a Frein the Yfront side et the plate 7 is struck up a ineuiber Si which is bent into the torni ot a hooi-z and is adapted to receive the iieXi- .bie member 6 on which the curtain hangs. in the present embodiment .l hawl indicated the ineniber t3 as being` a coiled spring, but it iviil be understood that this may be of any desired torni oi"- curtain support.
il-fhere the member 7 is not a stamping the member 9 can be any form of projection for holding the flexible member 6.
in l l have indicated the plate 7 as being on the front sides oit the casing parte 4; and in these positions the member 6 eX- tenes away troni the hook 9 in the position indicated in Figs. l and 8. Sometimes it is desirable to set the curtain in between the Ytraine parts li., and in such a case the plates 7 are placed against adjacent sides of the casino` parts as clearly indicated in Fig. 2. Here the flexible member 6 pulls directly outwardly on the hool 9.
Flach member 6 Will require two of my improvements, one each end thereof, as clearlj7 indicated in Figs. l and 2. lt is sometimes desirable to suoport a curtain 5 at the top and bottoni, or in any other manner, and it will b apparent that more than one {iexible nrmber 6 and supports at the ends thereof may be supplied when desired.
have illustrated the preferred forni of niv invention. but it will be apparent thatv variations and changes ina;y be made in the details et the. device Without departing` from the spirit ot niv invention set forth inthe appended claim.
l claini:
curtain fixture comprising a Hat rectamoul r iilat. an integral Window casing engaging point at each corner of said rectangular plate disposed a right angle to the latter, and an integral hook cut out and struck up from the central portion of said plate with a. portion ot said hook disposer substantially perpendicular to the plate on the opposite side ot the latter trom said points and another portion ot said hook disposed in a curve facing the cut out portion of said plate.
ln testimoni7 whereof' l have signed in v name to this specification on this 24th day ot March. A. D. i922.
