ERASER FOR BLACKB CARDS.

The novel features of my invention are hereinafter fully described and claimed.

1 designates a rigid back, which may be a flat piece of wood and to one side of which is secured an erasing pad 2, preferably felt, and which projects, preferably, beyond the outer edges of the back 1, which as shown, may be rectangular.

Attached to the other side of the back 1 is cushioning means comprising preferably.

2 and 3, and assists in preventing the pads from being detached from the back.

The rigid back prevents the eraser from being bent and distorted in shape. The provision of the cushioning pad 3 and the extension of the latter and of the erasing pad 2 beyond the edges of the back 1 affords cushioning means for the back which renders the eraser noiseless.

Any suitable means, such as gluing, may be employed for attaching the binding strip 4 to the pads and for attaching the latter to the back.

I do not limit my invention to the struc ture shown and described, as many modifications, within the scope of the appended claims, may be made without departing from the spirit of my invention.

hat I claim is r 1. An eraser for blackboards comprising a rigid back, an erasing pad attached to one side of said back, a cushioning pad attached to the other side of said back, and binding material encircling the edges of said back and attached to said pads, substantially as set forth.

2. An eraser for blackboards comprising a rigid back, an erasing pad attached to one side of said back, a cushioning pad attached to the other side of said back, said pads projecting beyond the edges of said back, and binding material encircling the edges of said back and attached to said pads, substantially as set forth.
