Patented Nov. '27, 1923.
units!) STATES anazn HENRY HOPPER, OF RO'E ARIO, ARGENTINA.
SAFETY-RAZOR-BLADE HOLDER.
Application filed February 25, 1922. Serial No. 539,247.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY HOPPER, a citizen of the Republic of Argentina, residing at Salta No. 2369 Alberdi, in Rosario, Argentina, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Safety-Razor-Blade Holders, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relatesto safety razor blade holders and has for its principal object to provide a device of this nature whereby a safety razor blade may be conveniently supported for str'opping purposes.
An important object of the invention is to provide a device or" this nature which is adaptable to be used in conjunction with various safety razor blades differing slightly in construction but all provided with an enlarged head or shoulder.
A further object of the invention is to generally improve upon devices of this nature by constructing them in an eliicient and simple manner whereby the same may be inexpensively manufactured and yet be thoroughly reliable in operation.
lVith these and numerous other objects in View, the invention resides in certain novel tteatures of construction, and the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed. 7 1
In the drawing Figure 1 is an elevation of the holder.
Figures 2 and 8 are transverse sections taken on the" line 22 and 3-3 of Figure 1 respectively,
Figure at is a transversesection taken on the line 4 of Figure 5,
Figure 5 is an elevation of the handle of ti e holder, I
Figure 6 is an end elevation of the spring clip, and
Figure 7 is a view similar to that shown in Figure 3 showing the device holding a dilferent make of blade.
Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that the handle 1 is provided at spaced intervals with the knarled portions 2 so that a firm grip may be had thereon during the stropping process. The handle 1 is provided adjacent one end with a pair of spaced reduced portions 3 having transverse apertures a extending therethrough. A spring clip 5 consists of the gripping lip portions 6 which are integrally connected with each other by the curved portions 7 which are spaced from each other and adapted to be positioned around the reduced portions 3 and held in firm engagementtherewith by the rivets 8 which pass through the apertures i.
Thus it will be seen that a razor blade may be efiiciently grasped between the gripping lips 6 of the spring clip 5 by sliding the same therebetween from end of the clip.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new is 1. In combination, a handle provided adjacent one end with a pair of spaced reduced portions, a clip associated with the handle and including a pair of gripping lips held together by spring curved portions fixed to the reduced portions of the handle.
2. In combination, a handle provided adjacent one end with a pair of spaced reduced portions, a spring clip associated with the handle and including a pair of gripping lips integrally connected by a pair of curved spring portions seated about the reduced portions, and means forholding the same in firm engagement therewith.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses. 1
HENRY HOPPER.
