Be it known that l, EDWIN F. Dnrnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bakersfield, in the county of Kern and State of California, have inventednew and useful lmprovements in Check Protectors, of which the following is a specica'tion.

rfhis invention relates to check protectors, and particularly to a check protector adapted to hold ay checkbook, and from which check booka check may. be removed and perforated by suitable means, the check being perforated to prevent a raising of said check above the amount indicatedon said check. The invention 'contemplates the provision of means whereby the check protector may `be easily carried in the pocket of its user, and which incorporates a construction that is not bulky and is easy to use. i

In practicing the invention l provide a suitable casing which is formed so as to have two compartments, Vone of which may Vcarry the check book-in its entirety, andthe other of which may receivel aeheckf detached from said check book and 'which check is to be perforated to prevent araisingofVV the amount of the check. l i i l/Vith the above objects in view, the invention consists in the novel and useful provision, formation, construction, combination, association and inter-relation of parts, mem-` bers ,and features, as illustrated in some of its embodiments in the accompanying drawing, described in the following detailed statement and finally pointed out in claims. A check protector, comprising a casing adapted to chamber a check, said casing having a cover with slots therein, and perforating elements freely inserted in the slots i'or disposition in relative arrangement for conjoint use; said slots including a portion in Which the perforating elements are normally disposed, a portion in Which they are disposed for use, and a further connecting portion.

l0. A check protector, comprising a casing adapted to chamber a check, said casing having a cover with slots therein, and perorating elements freely` inserted in the slots for disposition in relative arrangement for conjoint use; a pad being provided under the slotted portion of the cover.
