Be it known that I, Roisiiirr 'SrUAiin'a citizen of the United" `States',V residingat Philadelphia, county` of-,Fhiladelphia, State of Pennsylvania.fihavefinyented a new and useful Window Fastener and Antirattlen'ot Whichthe following is a specilication.
My "invention comprehends a novel construction and arrangement of a Window fastener which causes the. sash to always," be dra-Wn inwardly toward the wi ndow.fra ine in. order toprevent anyy rattling andjalso to prevent admSs'ion offcold airin v vinter.) Other `novel features .of construction and" advantage '.Will" hereinafter, more4 clearly ap- F or the purpose offi lustrating my invenf tion,i I have shown in,..the. ,accompanying drawings a typical embodiment which. is at present vpreferred by me, ,sincethis embodiment will be found in practice to give satisfactory andreliable results. Itis, however, to bennderstood that. the various instrumentalities of which myy inventionpconsists "can be .variously"arranged and 1organized ,and that my inventionis not limitedfto the precise arrangement and organization vof 4these instrnmentalitiesf as herein shown .and described. if

The stop members 22 maybe spacedv ap art any desired distance. My present invention does not interfere with the ordinary or regular lock and provides an additional locking member so that-the window sash yor window sashescan only be opened to a desired limited degree and, if desired, the stop members 22 maybe arrangedl close enough `to gether to prevent any upward or downward movement 'of ,a window sash ,when the locking lever 19 is in locking position.
llt will be apparent that I rhave .devised a vnovel and useful windowfaste'ner which embodies ithe fea-tures of advantage enumerated'as desirable in the statement ofthe invention and theabove description, and while I have, in the present instance, shown and Adescribed a preferredembodiment thereof which. will give'in practice satisfactory and reliablel results, it is'k to be understood that this embodimentl is'susceptible' of modifica,- tion in'various particulars without departing from the spirit or' scope of theinvention lor sacriiicing any of its advantages.
VHaving thus ldescribed my invention,l what I claim as new and desire to secureby Letters Patent, is:
1. A" window fastener and anti-rattler, comprising. a casing adapted to bev secured to the window sash.- a roller adapted to travel on the window jamb, a roller support havingl a plurality of 'guides slidablen in said casing, resilient means to cause said roller tol draw said sash towards said jamb` and a locking "member 'y movably Acarried by said casing. e
"2.wind'ow fastener and anti rattler, comprising a vcasingwadapted to' be secured to a window sash,l a rolleradapted to travel onthe window ralme, a roller support'slidablein said casing, resilient means'to cause the roller to draw said Vs'ashtov'va'rds said frame, a keeper securedtosaid frame and having-stop members; and a locking xmember movably carried by said casing and adapted tocontact with one of said stop members .to `limit the ,lopeni'ngvmovement permitted of the window sash.
l A"wind'owf'fastener and anti-rattler, comprising a kcasing adapted to be secured to a window""sash, a roller adapted to travel on the window frame, a roller. support guided by saidLCaSing, resilient'means to 'cause theroller to draw. said sash towards saidztrame, a keeper secured to said Aframe and havingA astopmember,v and a locking member movably carried 'by said casing and adapted to Contact with said stop member to limit the opening movement permitted of the window vsash, said locking member having aprortion to engage-said stopmember to thereby limit itsmofvement' 'ini one direction. 15Awindow"fastener` and anti-rattler,
ycomprising aV easing, a tubewithin said cas'- ing, `a lfastening*device vhaving its thead 'guided in' said' tube,` a sleeve within said casing, a guide" member having legsI slidable in said easing andhaving ascrew, the head of which is'slidable'in saidr sleeve and the shank of which is connected with said'fasteningdevice,` agspringbetweenthe head of said fastening ,device and said casing, a post secured to'said gi'iide member, a roller carried by saidy post, said casing being adapted to be secured'tovpa'window sash and'said roller. to travelfon' the window jamb whereby said `spring `causes"said"shaft to be moved -inwardlytoward'said jamb, ,and a window locking memberpivoted to-fsaid casing.
5. A window'tt'astener and antir`attler, comprising a casing" having a slot and adapted to be secured to'a window sash, a sleeve withinsaid casing; a tube connected with'said sleeve, a `spring within said sleeve, a guideA member having legsslidable in said slot and 'hav-ingmeans 'against which safid yROBERT STUART.
