l SANITARY 4sont TRAY;
Application filedv August 21, 1 922. Serial No.1 `583,115.
Be it known thatI, JOHN a citizen of 'the Unitedk States, residing at Murphysboro, in the countyV of Jackson and 5 State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sanitary Soap Trays, of which the following is a specification. v
This invention relates to lavatory accessories, more particularly to ya sanitary drainer for soap, and the main objectisto `provide means for leading the soap drippings directly into the overflow portsor other similar openings of the sink,`lbasin orl l5 tub towhich itis attached. h
Another object is to provide a modified` i type of draining dish in which the drip pan is made movable so it can be raised or lowered to accommodate various sizes of soap bars. y
'These and other objects will vbecome apparent in the description below, iny .which similar characters of reference refer `to', likeiiamed parts in the drawing. u
Referring briefly to the drawing, Figure 1 is'a perspective view of a wash basin havying the soap ydish drainer mounted thereon.- Figure 2 is a top plan'view of the drainer.
Figure 3 is a front elevational view, and` Figure Ll'is a side elevationalview of the same. l y u t Figurey 5 is a sectional yelevational view of 1a modified type of soap dish draiiier.r
Figure 6 is an end elevational lview. of Figure 5. n y p y Describing the 'drawing in detail, the numeral 10 represents the wall plate of a wash 1 basin fixture which has arelativelyslarge the basin chamber lll'which is provided withv basin plate 11 integrally formed therewith. Faucets 12 are secured to and project from the plate 11, their spouts 13 emptying into a plurality of spaced apart ports 15 preventgular box having a raised rear side plate 16 in which holes are provided to receive the lugs or pins 17 which support the drainerA upon Y' the wall plate 10.' End-walls 18 anda front wall19 provide an open container its bottom 20 formed into a series of downwardly inclined surfaces which meet ata common Gr.l ANDREWS,
vertex, the platter being" the lowestfpointvinl'" the bottom. A small vfunnel 21A is rigidly fitted to theL bottom and provided withan outlet tube 22 bentto 'conform to the basin, and enter one ofthe overflowvports 15.-r
'IheV construction of the modified drainer,` is similar but-has in addition vertical strips 26 mounted centrally on vthe endwalls '18.' Saidv strips have ratchet like serrations 27, extending their lentire length, the upper' horizontal surfaces 28 of which form the supporting meansl for the adjustable drain l 70 plate. Y
The drain plate29, inthe modified-type of drainer, is also provided with openings 24;', and have spring' arms 30 .extending upwardly from each ofits ends. f Said arms 30 exi tendpclosely parallel within the walls 18 ofv the container, and arey formed into `return,
bends 31.', The outer ends-32 ofthe arms are l bent downward, and the lower edges 33 are adapted to adjustably rest upon vany lof lthe v horizontal surfaces v28. of thel serrations 27.v
In use, vthe drainer receives the soap 'in'.a
moistened and somewhat softened condition. l
The soap rests upon the drain plate 23 and the drippings thru the openings ,24fall' into the `bottom 20. As said vbottom is inclined toward a vertex at which location thevoutlet4 funnel 21 is'situated, it follows that the drippings from the soap will flow thru the yfunnel 21 and into the outlet tube 22.` In
upwardly until the ends 32 rest upon the surface 28 of the desired tooth 27 or wholly l removed at will.`
I,claim:
1. A soap holder comprisingv rectangu-i lar container having a downwardlyinclined bottom, a drain plateyin said container, f l.
y drainejr, the plate 29 can belifted yby pulling the arms 30 curved spring arms on said drain plate extending over the edges of the container, and i plate' at various bottom.
toothed elements arrangedvertically on the end Walls of said container adapted to engage said arms and support said drain 10 g heights'from said inclined I, aix my Sigileture.y y
