invented certain new and useful Improvements in Door Constructions, of which the following is a specification referencebeing had therein to the accompanying drawing l Our invention relates to improvements in to a construction for doors'for warming ovens orthelike which are provided in connection with gas or coal ranges 1 mestic use. v f y Our invention also relates to an improved door construction whereby the raising and lowering of the same is facilitated.
The primary object of our invention is to provide a door with a hanger and pivot on which the door swings and a counterweight for balancing the door. i I Another objeotof our invention is to provide a swinging door for ovens or the like which will swingupor down and is free from binding-or sticking, asislikely with doors of other constructions. c

handle 16 is mounted upon the squared end 15 of the outwardly extending shaft 14. From the foregoing it will be readily understood that by rotating the handle 16 the door 7 is swung upon its shafts 18 and 14 and that unobstructed entrance to the oven door;,7 can be swung up to a position to lie approximately beneath the oven top 3.
The door 7 will rotate very easily due to the counterweights l2, and after the door hasbeen opened the same will remain in an open position, being held there by the counterweights 12.
In those constructions of oven doors now prevalent the oven doors can not be opened completely to allowan unobstructed entrance ner sides of the oven oven doors of .out departing from to the oven interior, due to the fact that the doors carry handles on their fronts which strike the oven top, which limits the movement of the door and the size into the oven. I I I With an oven door with a handle on its front we have found that the handle becomes very hot and is liable to burn the hands of the operator While with the door handle or operating means of our improved construction the operator runs no risk of burning his hands when swinging the door to an open position.
Attention is also directed to the stub shaft bearings 18 which bear against the inner sides of the oven sides 1 and hold the hangers 10 of the oven door just clear of the-inwalls when the door is being swung. This construction assures that the door will swing easily, and be free from binding or sticking'as' is very likely with other constructions.
Although we have shown the oven door 7 with the door as being fiat it will be readily understood that our construction could be applied to an oven with acurved door withthe spirit of our inven tion. And we also wish it understood that we do not limit ourselves to the application of our construction to oven doors as our 0011- struction can be used in many other places I where swinging doors are desired.
