Be it known that I, HENRY F. AUSTIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Orleans, in the county of rleans and State of Louisiana, have invented a new and useful Feeder for Fountain Pens, of which the following is a specification. v
The present invention relates to fountain pens or the like, the primary object of the invention being to provide means for causing the ink contained in the inlr sack, to flow to the pen lpoint, thereby eliminating the necessity of the user throwing the pen in an endeavor to start the ink flowing.
Another obj ect of the invention is to provide a device of this character which will be located at a point directly under the users fingers so that the device may be readily and easily operated.
*With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing` from the spirit of the invention.
Referring to the drawing Figure 1 is a plan view of a pen `constructed in accordance with the present invention.
Figure 2 is a longitudinal sectional view through the pen barrel, and taken on line Q--Q of Fig. 1.
Figure 3 is a sectional view on line 3-l of Figure 2.
Referring to the drawing in detail, the barrel of the pen is indicated by the reference character 5 in which is supported the usual rubber inlr sack 6 which has one end thereof embracing a portion of the pen supporting member 'T through which the inlr passes in its travel to the pen point 8.
The barrel 5 is provided with an elongated opening ll to accommodate ,the lever 9 which is pivotally supported between the walls of the opening, at a point intermediate its ends Serial No. 484,761.
