To all whom t may concern Be it known that l, Cento U. FINoooI-rmiio, a citizen of the United States, residing' in the city or N ew York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of N .1 York, have invented a new and Improved Filing; Device for Sound-deprooucing` Records, or which the following is a full, clear, and er;- act description. c

My invention has for its obj-ect to pro vide a ling` device for sound reproducing;` records having two series oil rods spaced apart, the rods in each series being spaced from each other to ailord iling spaces for the records. The two series ot rods are preferably disposed one above the other with the forward terminals ot the upper set or' rods bent upwardly and the 'forward terminals oi the lower set or' rods bent downwardly, it being understood that some of the rods in vone of the series may be disposed nearer some of the rods in the other series than is the case with the remaining' rods, so that records oi' different diameters may be conveniently accommodated.

Another object of the invention is to provide guides which are disposed in planes extending from one of the series of guides to the other series in which may be retained cards with the titles ofthe records in the order in which they are disposed between the rods.

Additional objects oi the invention will appear in the following specification, in which the prei-erred form or my invention is described.

By referring to the drawings, it will be seen that the cabinet 5 is of the usual construction and that it has a Space 6 in which the records may be disposed. In this space o, which is normally closed bv the doors 1822. Serial No. 557,356.

Each set of rods 8 is provided with two transverse members 9 and 10 which serve as the main supports and with an additional transverse member ll. The rods 8 at each side of the transverse members are disposed substantially in the same plane and with their forward ends 8b bent downwardly and with their terminals 8c secured to the transverse member 9. rllhe rear terminals 8d are secured to the transverse member 10. Between these rods 8, there are disposed additional rods 8 which extend in a plane above the plane in which the rods 8 are disposed. These rods 8a also have their forward ends 8e bent downwardly and their forward terminals secured to the transverse member 9. In the preferred form of my invention, there is a drawer 15 above the space 6 in the cabinet, this drawer 15. having a glass panel 16 at its forward end, there being disposed in the rear of the said glass panel guide members 17 in which may be disposed cards 18 on which may be written the titles of the records which are disposed immediately below the said guides. These vguides 17 are preferably constructed with their lower ends 19 bent at right yangles to their bodies to form bases which may be secured to the bottom of the drawer 15 by screws disposedthrough the orifices 2O of the bases 19, the said screws extending into the bottom of the drawer. In order to more conveniently examine the cards in the guide members 17 and to assist in the disposal of the cards in the said guide members,there are two rows of these guide members, the guide members in the front row being spaced apart and the guide members in the rear row being staggered relatively to the 2ruido members in the front row so that the cards on the guide members in the rear row may be vexamined by looking between the guide members in the front row. The cards 18 in .the guide members 17 may be removed and other cards may be inserted when the record or records filed between the rods immediately below the said guide members In the drawer 15 at the rear of the panel members, there is preferably a partition 21 disposed at the rear of the rear Apanel members 17 which. will provide a space in the drawer in which records 22 may be stored when it is not desired to use them frequently.

yHaving thus described my invention, I claim:

1. In a filing device for sound reproduciing records, two sets of rods spaced apart and disposed one set above the other, the rods in the upper set, when in normal position, being bent at their forward ends upwardly, and the'rods in the lower set being bent at their forward ends downwardly, and four transverse members to which the terminals of the rods are secured.

2. 1n a filing device for sound reproduc-4 l rality of rods spaced'apart bent at one set of ends and having their terminals secured to the transverse members, additio-nal rods spaced apart bent at one set of ends with their terminals at said ends secure to one of the transverse members, a third transverse member to which the other termials of the additional rods are secured and means vconnecting the third transverse member with the other of lthe iii-st two mentioned transverse members to support the third transverse member.

8. In a filing device for sound reproducing recorrils, two sets of rods normally spaced apart, the rods in each set when in normal position beingbent at one set of ends away from the rods in the other set, four transverse members, the terminals vof Athe rods being secured to the transverse members, and two sets of additional rods, one set of the additional rods having ends bent in the same direction as the bent ends of one of the first mentioned sets of rods with terminals at their said bent ends secured to one of the transverse members, the other set of the additional rods having ends bent inA the same direc-tion as the bent ends of the other of the .first mentioned sets of rods with terminals at their said bent ends secured to one of the transverse members, two additional transverseA members, the other terminals of one set of the additional rods being secured to one of said additional transverse members and the other terminals of .the other set of additional rods being secured t-o the other of said additional transverse members, and means to hold the additional transverse members in position relatively to one i of the first mentioned four transverse members.

4. In a fil-ing'device for sound reproducing records, two sets of rods,.the central portions of the rods in one set extending in the a posed in the cabinet with their central por tions extending in the same general direction, the rods in each set being bent at their forward ends away from the rods in the other set, four transverse members to which the terminals of the rods are secured, the transverse members being secured tol the cabinet.

6. In a ling device for sound reproducing records, a cabinet, two transverse members secured to the cabinet, a plurality of rods spaced apart and bent at theirforward ends and having their terminals secured to the transverse- Vmembers, additional rods' spaced apart bent at their forward ends with their terminals at their said ends secured to one of the transverse members, a. third transverse member to whichthe other terminals of the additional rods are secured, and means supporting the third transverse member relatively to the other transversev members.

7. In a. filing device for` sound reproducing records, a cabinet, two sets of rods spaced apart and disposed inthe cabinet, the rods in each set being bent at one set or' ends away from the rods in the other set, y

tour transverse members secured tothe cabinet, the terminals of the rods being secured to the transverse members, two sets of additional rods, one set of the additional rods having their forward ends bent in the same direction as the bent ends of one of the first mentioned sets of rods with their termina-ls at their bent ends secured to one of the transverse members, the other set of the additional rods having their forward ends bent in the same direction as the bent ends of the other of the irst tvvo mentioned sets orl rods with their terminals at their bent ends secured to one of the transverse members, tW'o additional transverse members disposed in the cabinet, the other terminals of one set of the additional rods being secured to one of the additional transverse members and the other terminals of the other set of additional rods being secured to the other ot the additional transverse members, and means to support the additional transverse members.

8. In a liling` device for sound reproducing` records, a plurality 0i guides in which cards with titles of records may be removably disposed, and means for filing' records having the said titles in the planes of the guides respectively.
