This invention relates to garment terms and more particularly to a torni especially adapted Jor use in Icoat sleeves.

Tn preparing coats tor display purposes, it is the practice to stuft' the sleeves with crumpled tissue paper to give them the desired torni. This practice is, however, pos sessed of numerous disadvantages, among which is the tact that the tissue paper does not stay in place and must be insertetfl. aittcr the coat is placed in its final position in the display Window. Also, the tissue paper bulges the'sleeves at various points and does not effectively prevent the sleeves troni ivrinlrling. j

Therefore, an important object oit this invention is to provide a sleeve ttorrn which be readily and conveniently inserted in a sleeve to give the sleeve the desired tullness both at its iront and rear sides and which Will also prevent the adjacent portion o't the coat from vvrinlrling.

Further, the invention aims to provide a sleeve 'torni having an exterior suritace which is somewhat rough whereby the :torni vvill remain in an adjusted position. in the sleeve.

it. 'lurther object of the invention is to provide a sleeve form which may le inserted into the sleeves oft coats after being pressed so as to prevent the coat Ylrom dryingv in a wrinkled condition.

The invention forming the subject matter ot `this application also aims to provide a torni for coats capable of use When draping coats `.on display stands or pedestals to give the upper portion oit the sleeve and the ad jacent portions ot the coat the desired tullness.

Tn the drawing the numeral l0 designates a coat form ordinarily used for the purpose oit' supporting coats on display, the said iorm being mounted upon a base l1.

The invention consists ott a pair of sleeves l2 termed trom an elongated body ot telt or other suitable material 13. Tn nianutacture the body ot telt is preferably about onehal'lv inch thick and has connectfon with a second layer ot telt 14 by means ot' stitching. its illustrated in Figure t the second layer ot telt ld is located at the sleeve head and in addition to providing the rear portion ot the sleeve form with the desired stoutness also asssts in giving the sleeve the necessary shape.

The stitching which connects the outer layer la: to the body 13 also connects a binding strip 16 to the upper portion of the form so as to enclose the upper end portion ot the telt body and to form a gradually reduced lip Which overhangs the shoulder. `With reference to Figure t it Will be observed that the upper end of the body 1? is gradually reduced in thickness so that that portion of the sleeve form which overhangs the shoulder Will be tapered transversely. By reason ot this construction the coat plied to the torm Will be snugly fitted about "he shoulder ot the l'orin and the sleeve head.

The sleeve head is given the curved torniation illustrated in Figure 2 by wetting the forni and subsequently shrinking' the inside and stretching the outside. The torni niay new be pressed so that it will retain the desired sha-pe.

The sleeve 'torni is provided at its inter- 'ineifliate portion or slightly in advance oit its head with a pair oit oppositely arranged lflaps or wings 25 which are adapted to be folded inwardly as illustrated in Fig. 2 to Contact with the inner side of the sleeve at the elbow portion of the saine for the purpose of applying` a unitor n and evenly distributed pressure to the sleeve. ln preparing the improved sleeve i'iorin for use the wings 25 which are of rectangular `liorination are pressed perfectly flat with the adjacent portion ot the body and when :tolded inwardly will exert a const-ant outward pressure and thereby display the lines oit the coat sleeve to the greatest advantage.

In order that the sleeve torni niight be readily inserted into a sleeve l have provided the saine at its forward portion with a pocket 28 adapted for the reception oit the hand whereby the operator inay readily insert the forni into the sleeve and subsequently adjust the same therein. This pocket is on theinner side of the torni and therefore does not cause the adjacent portion of the coat sleeve to bulge at this point. A pair of the sleeve forms is employed for each coat and the saine are connected by means ot a flexible strip 30 of any suitable material. In practice the tape may be of a length to extend across the baclr of the forni in the inanner illustrated in Figure l.

VTWith reference to F igures 2V and 3 and Figure 4 it will be seen that the longitudinal edge portions or' the body are curved transversely lso that the sarne provide mild creases at the front and rear sides of the sleeve.

ln the 'forni ot the invention illustrated in Figures 5 to 9 inclusive the form generally designated by the numeral 32 is espe cially adapted 'for use in connection with pedestals or stands 33. ln use the forni 32 is applied to the hanger 34 and a coat is draped over the orin and the hanger. Of course in draping the coat it is not snuglv fitted to the form but the upper portion ot the saine is properly positioned on the hanger 34 and the forni 32 and the lower portion ol'. the coat and the lower portion of the sleeves are allowed to rest upon the plateau upon which the pedestal or stand 33 is mounted.
