THOMAS GALT, OF ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS.
IMPROVEMENT IN CHILDRENS CARRIAGES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 143,818, dated October 21, 1873; application filed August 30, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS GALT, M. D., of Rock Island, in the county of Rock Island and State of Illinois, have invented a new and Improved Rocking Perambulator, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists of the body of a childs perambulator mounted on the frame with rockers, so that it can be used as a cradle as well as a perambulator when it may be required to do so. Hooks are attached to fasten the body, so that it will not rock when it is not wanted two rockers, O, supporting the carriage-body D, are mounted,- and secured by straps E, so
that the body may be rocked sidewise like a cradle. F represents hooks on the frame, to engage the carriage-body D on each side, and prevent it from rocking when desired.
I do not limit myself to any particular arrangement of the rockers, for it is immaterial what the arrangement may be, provided the body can be caused to rock well.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent-- The body of a childs perambulator mounted on the frame with rockers, so that it can be used as a cradle, and provided with hooks to prevent rooking, substantially as specified.
