Each of the strips 8 is provided at one edge with a re-hent and rolled portion 9, the poo tion 9 being flattened, as indicated. The strips 8 are applied to the roof commencing v at she lower edge thereof, the lowermost Si/rip being applied first over the being extended gutter ll), as shown, and secured thereto lov hailsll. covered with strips of the impregnated felt, the edge of said strips being turned under e ridge cap, as indicated, and ornamental bands or cuffs 15 of the impregnated felt are also secured around the ridge ca as shown. The strips 8 are formed at the factor with the-rolls 9 along one edge and tin or uniform conditions of heat, which facilitates the rolling and impregnated felt. These rolled lengthwise and furnished in this form, thus avoiding any necessity for bend ing the strips or" material in the open air when being applied, and whereby breakage strips are then orcracking is avoided.
I In the modified form of construction illus- I trated in Figs. 3 and 4, the ornamental strips been omitted, but otherwise the construction is identical with that already described.
In Fig. 6 I have illustrated a form of strip or s eet adapted for use at the hips of a roof. in this construction, sheets 15 of impregnated felt are sided with a simple re-heiit edge 17, adicated, said strips bein out into suitable is gths and laid over Fig. 5.
