The object ofsiny invention isto provide a clay tile or culvert'or other circular structure made of aplurality of sections adapted to be'manufactured in :the factory and assembled into awcompleted structureon the 'job. 15
More particularly it is my object to provide such a structureein. which the sections are preferablyformed.with an outer and in inerwallwith air spaces between ithem, and

there is provided at each side edge of each section a longitudinal extension, which is not so thick as the main "body oft-he section.
In completing each section portions of each. extension are cut away by using wires or the like mounted on asuitable frame. One out is made through the portions 18, and one through the portion 'lfiffor the walls 16 and 15 from'the walls ll'and 10.
Transverse cuts are-made forgetting out portions of the extensionshereinbefore described.
lVhen'the section is completed it will be noticed thatat one edge it has a'series of extensions A spaced from each other longiand at "the other edge a series of similarly spaced extensions 'B The extensions however, are stag gered with I'QlllllOIl' to the extensions A.
In assembling the tile or the like on the work the sections are setup on endand placed together, as illustrated in Figure 1, with the. extensions fitting intothe spaces between the enten'sions of an adjacent sec tion, and with the walls 10 of adjacent sections fitting snugly together and with the walls 11. of adjacent sections fitting snugly together.
It will be noted thus assembled, there will be found extending down through the overlapp ng extensions A and B a continuous openingflO, eX- tending longitudinally through the comlhis opening 1n the separating that when the parts are i seen except at the for strengthening completed structure slush cement 21 or able material for ployed.
It will be noted that in each member A and B, the opening 20 extends circumfereutially in the tile across the joints between the adjacent tile sections.
It will also be noted that the partitions l2 and 14- extend longitudinally of the sections from end to end thereof. It thus fol lows that the locking post made by pouring slush concrete or the like into the opening 20 will have portions which project circumferentially of the completed structure in both directions from the lines of the joint between adjacent sections.
Special attention is called to this structure in connection with the staggering of the members 17 of the adjacent sections and the reducing of the thickness of the members i? from the inside to the outside of the tile. This combination finishes a tile with an internal and interlocking joint, which on the outside and inside appears to be simply on a continuous longitudinal line, but which is, in fact, extremely strong, because of the support, the member 17 gives to the outer and is preferably filled with the like, but any suit the purpose may be en:-
inner shells of the members.
After the joint has been finished by pouring the slush concrete, it will be seen that it would be very dificult to break the tile or the like at the joint.
It is obvious that be used if desired.
By means of the concrete or the like 21 the sections are locked together and the completed tile is made.
It will be noted that while the extensions A and B overlap each other. they cannot be ends of the tile or when the tile is completed.
On the inside and outside of the tile there canbe seen only the longitudinal joints between the sections.
It will be noted that the joints between the different sections are very strong, and that strong shoulders are provided which will not easily tear off, and that the concrete or the like 21 forms a reinforcing post the sertions at the. joints as well as for holding them together.
It will be noted that one important teature of my invention arises from the fact that the thickness of the extensions A and B from inside to outside is suchthat a cut may be made through the portions 18 and 19 in the plane of the outer surfaces of the Wall members 16 and 15, and this cut will sever the walls 16 and 15 fromthe walls 11 and 10.
Some changes may e n'iade in the construction and arrangement of the parts of in improved sectional tile without departing from the essential features and purposes of my invention,and it is my intena wooden strip might tion to cover by my claims any modified forms of structure or use of mechanical equivalents which may be reasonably included within their scope.
I claim as my invention:
1. In a device of the class described, a plurality of sections of plastic material, each comprising an inner and outer Wall and transverse connecting Walls, each section having at each side a plurality of projecting hollow tongues spaced from each other longitudinally of the section and thinner than the body of the section, each tongue be ing spaced from the adjacent transverse wall, so as to leave a hollow space in the tongue and in the adjacent body portion of the section extending from the interior of the tongue beyond said tongue andinto the interior of the body of the section, the tongues on one side of each section being staggered with relation to the tongues on the other side thereof, said sections being arranged in a tile or the like, comprising a plurality of sections arranged in a circle with the tongues of the side edges of each section projected between and beyond the tongues of the side edges of the adjacent section and into the bodies of the adjacent sections.
2. In a device of the class described, a plurality of sections of plastic material, each comprising an inner and outer wall and transverse connecting walls, each section having at each side a plurality of projecting hollow tongues spaced from each other longitudinally of the section and thinnerthan the body of the section. each tongue being spaced from the adjacent transverse wall, so as to leave a hollow space in the tongue and in the adjacent body portion of the section extending from the interior of the tongue beyond said tongue and into the interior of the body of the section, the tongues on one side of each section being staggered with relation to the tongues on the other side thereof, said sections being arranged in a tile or the like, comprising a plurality of sections arranged in a circle with the tongues of the side edges of each section projected between the tongues of the side edges of the adjacent section and into the bodies of? the adjacent sections, and plastic material received in said openings. v
3. in a device of the class described, a tile comprising a plurality of sections of plastic material, eac section having an inner and an outer wall, and transverse connecting walls near its sides and having at each side a plurality of projecting hollow tongues, spaced from each other longitudinally of the section and thinner than the body of the section, the opening in each tongue being incommunication with the opening between the inner and outer walls of its section, and being narrower than the opening between the walls of the section substantially as shown or leaving a hollow space in the tongue and in the adjacent section, the tongues on one side of each section being staggered with relation to the tongues on the, other side thereof, the sections being arranged in a tile with the tongues of each section projecting between the tongues of the adjacent section into the bodies of the adjacent section, and plastic material received in said openingsfor forming posts in the tongues, and project- 10 ing into the bodies of the adjacent sections.
