Application filed August 17, 1921. Serial No. 493,051.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that 1, CHARLES STRIER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Brooklyn, borough of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Hair Comb, of which the following is a full,
clear, and exact description.
This invention relates to a hair comb, primarily designed for use with, bobbed hair.
An object of the invention is to provide means for holding the hair in position and preventing the same from falling about the face.
Other objects of the invention will be clearly understood from the following detailed description and accompanying drawigure 1 shows the comb attached to the hair.
F igure 2 is a perspective view of thecomb showing it with barrettes attached.
vided with means for detachably connecting them to the band. Furthermore the barrettes might be made integral with the band 10-.
In applying this comb to the hair, the barrettes 12 and 13 are first. attached to the band 10, then the band is placed about the 40 head as shown in Figure 1, with the teeth of the comb 11 projecting downward and engaging with the hair. The barrettes 12 and 13 are then attached to that portion of the hair nearest the face. lhus the hair is held from falling in front of the face and the hair about the back of the head is held down in position by the band 10 and the comb 11.
I would state in conclusion that while the illustrated examples constitute the practical embodiments of m invention, 1 do not limit myself strict yto the exact details herein illustrated, since manifestly the. same can be considerably varied without, departing from the spirit of my invention as defined in the appended claim.
What I claim is As a new article of. manufacture, a hair comb of the class described comprising a resilient band, a curved comb for engaging the hair to retain it in position carried by the band, and barrettes provided with means for positively gripping the hair at tached to the resilient band.
