IMPROVEMENT IN PRINTERS RULES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 142,512, dated September 2, 1873; application filed July 3, 1873.
To all whom "it may concern Be it known that I, CONRAD REUTER, of Cincinnati, county of Hamilton, State of Ohio, have invented an'Improvement in Printers Rules, of which the following is a specification:
The object of my invention is to provide a ready and efficient means of holding securely together two printers leads or rules and the type set between them.
In the drawings, Figure I is a face View of type set between the two leads or rules A A, which are held together by the two separate adjustable metallic clamps or fasteners B B,
Fig. II is a perspective view of the same, with the difference that the leads or rules are curved instead of being straight. The type are also removed.
Fig. III is a perspective view of one of the clamps B.
The adjustable clamps are simply forced over the ends of the leads or rules, and secured there by frictional contact; hence the leads or rules may be shortened without impairing the Witnesses: B. STORER, J r., JEREMIAH F. Twonre.
