Description

H. AUSUBEL. HOLDER FOR TOOTH CLEANING ARTICLES.
APPLICATION FILED MAR. 22, 19I9.
Patented Aug. 1, 1922.
INVEIVTOR iii a it n an nonnna' For; roo'rrr-onnainrne imitates;
inaaiai.
Application filed March 22, 1919.
To (all iii/1072i it may concern:
Be it known that 1, HERMAN i-insomsr, a citizen of the United States, and resident of the city oi? New York, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Holder for 'liootlrCleaning Articles, of which the tollowing is a specification.
This invention relates to a holder for tooth cleaning articles, and its principal object it to provide a simple, inexpensive, conveniently manufacturable, conveniently utilizable, and improved holder, wherewith the tumbler, tooth paste, and individual tooth-brushes that are used by the various members of the household may be retained thereby together in close proximity to each other, so as to render all these articles readily at hand and conduce to their most frequent use, and wherewith these articles and particularly all of the tooth-brushes will be at all times retained in clean aseptic state.
Other objects and. advantages will hereinafter appear.
In the accompanying drawings,
Figure 1 shows a general elevation of the device constituting the invention, with the individual. tooth-brush receptacles, tooth paste, and tumbler all retained in their places in the operative state of the holder.
Figure 2 shows a plan view of the holder, shown in Figure 1, but with the tooth-brush receptacles, tooth paste, and tumbler re moved.
A bracket 1 for supporting the device comprises a bar 2 provided at its extremity 3 with a flange 1, which may be secured to a wall or any fixed body 5 by means of screws 6 passing through openings 7 thereof. To the extremity 8 c1? bar 2 is fixed a receptacle 9, for the tumbler 10, which con sists of an annular wall 11 that is adapted to surround or embrace the side-wall of the tumbler and an annular rim or shelf 12 at the bottom of wall 11 upon which the tumbler may be placed, and retained in position. The bottom shelf 12 forms part of the wall 11 and is slightly inclined, as shown, so as to provide drainage for what little water there my be in the tumbler 1 when it is placed in the receptacle, the tumbler being preferably placed into the receptacle 9 in the inverted state shown, to drain it thoroughly and prevent settling specification of Letters Patenti Patented na i; was. Serial No. 28%,247.
therein of dust, and to otherwise maintain the tumbler in clean sanitary condition. At the rear of the receptacle 9 and directly above the bar 2 is located a receptacle 13, which is secured to the receptacle 9. The receptacle 13 is preferably similar to receptacle 9 in general configuration, but is considerably narrower than the latter so as to fit it for the retention of a tooth paste tube 141-. A plurality of rings 15 are secured to the receptacle 9 is the manner and arrangement shown in Figure 2. In each ring 15 is located a tooth-brush receptacle comprising a tube 16, preferably of glass, which is held in place on the ring b means of a bead 17 forming part of the tube either merely resting on the ring, so as to render it removable therefrom or the said bead being permanently secured to the ring 15. The individual tooth-brush 1'2 may be inserted into the tube 16 and the latter closed by means of a cap 18, which preferably may be made of aluminum. Said cap is perforated at its central portion 19, as is also the bottom 20 of tube 16 so as to afford proper drainage, drying, ventilation, and aeration for the tooth-brush 17.
It will be evident that by the utilization of this device the various members of the household may keep their individual toothbrushes in the respective receptacles 16, wherein the brushes will be maintained in clean aseptic condition, and the various tooth-lnrushes may be conveniently removed from the receptacles as required and utilized in connection with the tooth paste of tube 14 and the tumbler 10.
Variations may be resorted to within the scope of the invention, and portions of the improvements may be used without others.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:
1. A holder for tooth cleaning articles having the combination. of a bracket, tumbler retaining means carried by said bracket including an annular wall adapted to surround the side of the tumbler with means for supporting the tumbler at the lower end of said wall, a plurality of rings depending from said wall being adapted for the retention of individual completely enclosing tooth brush receptacles, and individual tooth brush receptacles having means to engage said rings and being removable from said means.
2. A holder for tooth cleaning articles" and individual completely enclosing tooth having the combination of a tumbler rebrush receptacles removably engaging said 10 taining means adapted to embrace the side rings; of a tumbler and to provide support for the Signed at the city of New York, in the 5 end of the tumb1er,a plurality of rings de county oi New York, and State of New pending from said tumbler retaining means York, this 21st day of March, A. D. 1919. being adapted for the retention of individual completely enclosing tooth brush receptacles, HERMAN AUSUBEL.
