zen of theUnited States, residing at Santa Cruz, in the countyof Santa Cruz and State ofCalifornia, have invented anew and useful Improvement in Concrete Building Structures, of which the following is a specification.
My invent-ion relates to improvements in the construction of concrete houses, barns, silos, ships and all building constructions, wherein a framework is provided with a network of reinforcing wires and a metallic reticulum adapted to receive and retain a filling of concrete to form an enclosing structure.
The primary object of my invention is to provide a framing structure adapted to receive and support a concrete filling.
Another object of my invention is to provide a durable concrete structure of the class described of simplified and economical construction.
A further object is to provide improved reinforcing means for strengthening a concrete structure.
A still further object of my invention is to provide means for facilitating the provision of doors and windows in a housing structure of the character specified.
I accomplish these and other objects by means of the device disclosed in the drawings forming a part of the specification wherein like characters of reference are used to designate similar parts throughout said specification and drawings, and in which Figure 1 is a transverse sectional view of my improved concrete house constructlon;

Referring to the drawings the numeral (1) isused to designate a concrete filling applied to a reticulum (2) secured to angle iron members (3) arranged to form the skeleton framework of a house. lum (2) is of metallic construct-ion such as close mesh screen or metal lathing adapted to receive and retain thereon a heavy coats ing of concrete, to form a fioor (4), walls (6), ceiling (7), roof (8) and partitions (9 for a house.
l Vires (11) are stretched longitudinally and transversely between adjacent members (3) of the framework in interweaving relation to form a network for reinforcement of concrete (1) applied thereabout. The ends of the wires (11) are twisted about an angle iron frame member (8) and the wires stretched taut as best illustrated in Figure 3 of the drawings, thereby preventing any bowing of the frame work and distributing the weight of concrete uniformly along the entire length of the members Openings (12) are provided in thereticulum (2) and the reinforcing wires (11) to permit door and window frames (14) to be set into the framework. The door and win dow frames (14) are molded from concrete in the desired shape and size and are permanently secured in place by the cement filling (1) applied thereabout. Suitable casings (16) are mounted within the frames (14) to receive suitable doors and windows after completion of the walls (6), and partitions (9).
In constructing my improved concrete house or other structure a skeleton framework is built up from angle iron members (3) along any desired plan and the reinforcing network of wires (11) stretched thereon and the metallic reticula (2) secured in position. The door and window frames (14L) are then set into the openings (12) provided therefor. A plastic concrete mixture is then plastered or otherwise suitably applied to the metallic reticula in such a manner as to cause the framework, reinforcing network, and reticula to be entirely embedded therein. In this manner a substantial and strongly reinforced concrete shell is erected to form walls (6), ceiling (7), roof (8) and partitions (9). The floor (4) may be formed from a similar concrete mixture, but in my present practice I prefer to use an artificial stone consisting of saw- The reticuand labor, to which an dust and (or) wood pulp, chalk rock and magnesite mixed in any suitable proportions, laid in a similar manner upon the reticula and reinforcing network and secured to the members provided as joists. The inside of the walls including the partitions and the inside of the roof may be made of this artificial stone mixture.
In this manner I obtain a concrete structure of rigid and durable nature adapted to be constructed with a minimum of expense suitable finish may be applied for the interior and exterior decoration.
I may also use this method in producing such structures as bath -tubs, mantels, troughs and the like.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1s A concrete structure comprislng ametallic frame Work, reinforcing Wires arranged in net formation so that its members are substantially parallel to the members of the frame work and a metallic reticulum stretched between adjacent members of the frame work allowing door and window JAMES PARTEE.
