To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ADoLrn Arrnnnson, a citizen of the United States, and resident of West Allis, in the county of lviilwaukee and State of lVisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Card Holders; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.

My invention refers to card or ticket holders, wherein a series of tickets are printed upon a single slip, and it has for its primary object to provide a simple, economical, onepiece metallic skeleton jacket for such tickets, the same being open at its ends and having its opposite walls convexed to form yielding friction surfaces, whereby the tick ets are held in place. 7

Another object of my invention is to provide companion openings in the convex walls, whereby the tickets can be positively fed towards either end of the jacket.

Still another object of my invention is to provide the end edges of the jacket with companion straight cutting surfaces, which cutting surfaces are intersected centrally by recesses, whereby the tickets or cards are exposed forwardly and. backwardly of the cut ting edge to visualize the same, in order that they may be approximately severed at their division line. Obviously, the cardholder may be constructed from any thin sheet metal, such for example as aluminum or the like, it being understood that the device can be either formed from a flat blank folded upon itself and seamed at one edge, or from tubular sections out to proper lengths and compressed to the desired formation in cross-section, provision being made for the operation of suitable dies, whereby the cen tral openings and end recesses, in connection with the cutting ed es, may be formed simultaneously.

With the above objects in view, the invention consists in a new article of manufacture as herein described in connection with the accompanying illustrations and subse quently claimed.

folded in the form of open loops, so asto prevent breaking of the metal at the fold, and also to form free runways for the edges of the card.

The side walls l-l are provided with central apertures 3-3. The open ends of the jackets are out at right angles tothe side edges to form companion straight line upper and lower cutting edges i-, which cutting edges are intersected by central recesses 5, the same being extended inwardly or back of the cutting edges so as to present an unobstructed view of thecard or ticket thereunder, whereby the ticket, when fed to the cutting edge, is brought to a positionin approximate alignment with said cutting edge, in. order that it Vmay be severed correctly The central apertures, formed in the side walls of the jacket, are for the purpose of convenient access to the ticket or tickets, whereby the operator, by simply placing the thumb and first finger upon the ticket, through the aperture, can feed said ticket forward to the cutting line. The apertures also facilitate manipulation of the ticket or card, whereby it can be properly inserted within the jacket.

Obviously an article ofthis kind can be readily carried in the pocket, and there is no liability of the tickets being lost. Further more, they can be quickly severed, and due to the fact that they are confined in a net plane, there is slight liability of cutting off two tickets at a time, should said ticketsbe folded into a double layer, withoutthe party so cutting the tickets be aware of the fact.

The holder can be made from a tubular pipe cut into the desired lengths, and flattened, or it can be made in single blank and folded with the meeting edges lapping at the longitudinal face of the structure and soldered or welded. It will be observed that the concave convex walls, in yielding connection, will thus prevent the tickets from inadvertently dropping out of the jacket, there being sufficient friction, so as to firmly hold them, except in instances where they are positively fed out by the operator grasping opposite walls of the cord or ticket through the fed apertures 3.

While I have shown and described a simple exemplification of my invention in all of its details it is understood that I may vary the structural features within the scope of the claims.

\Vhile I have shown and described the tubular holder as having both ends open, obviously I may without departing from the spirit of my invention close one end, whereby the device will assume the form of a pocket or case.

I claim:

1. A card or ticket holder comprising a flattened tubular section open at its ends, the side walls of which sections are centrally apertured and concavo convex so as to form inner longitudinal gripping surfaces for the tickets or card, the longitudinal edges being folded-to form loops, and the end edges of the jacket being formed with straight cutting surfaces intersected by central recesses.

2. A. card or ticket holder comprising a flattened tubular section open at its ends, the side walls of which jacket are bowed inwardly to form friction grips for tickets or cards, the said side walls being centrally apertured, and the end edges terminating with straight companion cutting surfaces.
