To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM Josnrrr ANDERSON, a subject of the King of England, residing at l Meadow Avenue, Hyde, in the county of Chester, England, have invented certain new and useful Improvements Connected with Showcards, Galendars, and the like, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates endars, or the like.

A show card, calendar, or the like, according to my invention, essentially comprises a head-piece portion which represents a show-card or permanent advertising medium; a perishable depending or hanging apron-like refill portion; a lath secured to the upper end of said apron-like portion; and means associated with said head-piece portion whereby the lath of which said apron-like portion is det'achably secured thereto.

I will further describe my invention with the aid of the accompanying sheet of explanatory drawings from which it will readily be seen that a head-piece and apronlike refill are so constructed that it is quite a simple matter to detach an old refill when to show-cards, calstripped of its goods, oras in the case of a calendarwhen out of date, and substitute a new one.

In said drawings, like characters of reference denote like or equivalent parts whereever they occur.

Figs. 1 to 3, inclusive, illustrate one mode of embodying my invention, Fig. 1 being a View of a head-piece or permanent body part, Fig. 2 a view of a perishable refill, and Fig. 3 a view showing the refill attached to and depending from the head-piece portion.

and the ends of a lath cl secured to the upper portion of the refill, by abutment against the rear face of said head-piece, sustain the refill in its hanging or depending position.

Fig. 7 illustrates in front and side View a modified construction, in which a lath (Z is secured by means of fasteners 6, say of papenfastener type, to the rear of a headpiece a, and a lath cl secured to a refill 0 rests upon the top of lath (P.

Fig. 8 illustrates in front and side View a modified construction, wherein a hinged shutter a is created by punching the headpiece in such a manner, that a framework a is left. Lath d of refill 0 is supported on the lower member of the frame a. Said hinged shutter forms the main space for the necessary advertising matter and when in use slightly protrudes or inclines outwardly through resting on the upper portion of refill, thus accentuating the advertising matter.

Fig. 9 illustrates in front View and section a modified construction wherein a. frame 6 is secured to the rear of a head-piece a, lath d of refill 0 being positioned in the lower member of frame 6.

Fig. 10 illustrates in front and side View a modified construction which is similar to that shown in Figs. 4: to 6, with the exception that hinges f are formed in the head-piece a in alignment with slot 6 in order to strengthen the head-piece at this part and ensure that the refill 0 shall hang perpendicularly.

Fig. 11 illustrates in front and side View an addition of a strut which in combination with Figs. 6, 8, and, 10 permit of the headpiece, partaking of a standing upright showcard and the apron revolving on its lath in slot, to take if desired the form of an outward inclined plane, as shown in dotted lines, thus creating an effective display, similar to a box of goods with raised lean-back lid: A very desirable thing, encouraging window display. Fig. 12 illustrates in front and end view a modified construction wherein two up-turned prongs h secured to head-piece a support lath d of the depending refill c.
