MOP VVRINGEE;
Application filed 24,.
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that we, LINCOLN V. SHAN- NON, OSCAR F. SHANNON, and JOHN B. SHANNON, citizens of the United States, and residents of the city of Chicago, county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Mop Wringers, of which the following is a s ecification.
ur invention relates to improvements in mop wringers and more particularly to a mop wringer bracket, and has for its object to provide a mop wringer with brackets fastened to the frame of the wringer which will engage eyes on the bail of a mop pail to retain the pail in position while resting on the floor and to furnish means by which the pail may be lifted with the wringer.
Other objects will appear hereinafter.
The invention consists in the combinations and arrangements of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
The invention will be best understood by reference to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, and in which,
Fig. 1 is a side View of the mop wringer with our bracket attached thereto; V
Fig. 2 is a front view thereof; and
Fig. 3 is a partial plan view showing the bracket attached in the eye of the pail bail.
In the drawings, we have shown our invention in connection with a mop wringer of the usual construction which comprises a base member 10 to which are fastened the lower ends of standards 11 which have their upper ends connected by a spacing bar and mop guide 12. A foot-operated member 13 is pivoted to intermediate portions of the standards 11 and is provided with upwardly extending arms 1 1 at the upper end of which is mounted a roller 15 on a shaft 16 passing through the ends of the arms 14 and carrying a crank arm 17 provided with an operating handle 18. A roller 19 is mounted at the upper ends of standards 11 by means of a shaft 20 passing through the standards and a bail or handle 21 is mounted on the outer ends of said shaft 20 for lifting the wringer.
The construction so far described is the usual construction and to said construction we fasten our brackets 24 in any convenient manner as by riveting them to the Specification OfLGlZtGIS Patent.

upper portions of the standardsll, A hook 25 is provided at the outer end of each bracket by cutting out a slot 26 as best shown in Fig. 1, the hook slanting upwardly and rearwardly. The pail 22 is mounted upon the hook of this bracket by means of eyes 27 of its bail handle 28. The eyes of the pail are engaged over the hook and normally retain the pail in position in the wringer while the pail and wringer rest on the floor and afford means to raise the pail when the wringer is raised by means of its bail 21. The hooks are also adapted to raise the pail along with the wringer whether the bail 28 of the pail is either in the depending or in the elevated position.
While we have illustrated and described the preferred form of construction for carrying our invention into effect, this is capable of variation and modification without departing from the spirit of the invention. We, therefore, do not wish to be limited to the precise details of the construction set forth, but desire to avail ourselves of such variations and modifications as come within the scope of the appended claims.
Having described our invention, what we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. Means rigidly attached to a mop wringer to engage the eyes of the bail of a mop pail adapted to retain said pail in position in said wringer.
2. Supporting means on a mop wringer to engage within the eyes of the bail of a mop pail and lift the pail along with the wringer.
3. Means on a mop wringer to engage the eyes of the bail of a mop pail to normally retain the pail in position while resting on the floor, and to lift the pail when the wringer is being lifted.
1. A mop wringer provided with standards, brackets attached to said standards, the outer ends of said brackets being provided with means for engaging the eyes of the bail of a pail.
5. A mop wringer, having brackets fixed thereon, and hooks on said brackets for engaging the bail of a pail, said construction providing means for lifting the pail while said bail is either in the depending or in the elevated position.
operate With said Wringer liftingmeans for lifting the pail from the floor.
In testimony whereof We have signed our 15 names to this speoificationin the presence of two subscribing Witnesses.
