The circuit wires may be applied in any preferred manner either in the shop or when the bracket is being installed. These circuit wires are passed through the bracket and through the nipple in well known ways.
A very important feature of the invention is that it enables me to polish or finish the exposed parts of the brackets without danger of breaking projecting parts. The extension f which carries the nipple F need not be polished as it is'concealed by the cap when the parts are assembled. Heretofore in brackets of somewhat similar construction. when the outer end of the arm loose or supplemental was applied to the polishing wheels, and the arm was polished in the neighborhood of the nipple, the nipple was often broken oil which has been a serious obstacle, but according to my invention the extension of the arm is not polished but left in a rough condition. It will be further observed that a smooth and even finish is given to the exterior of the bracket, the outer end of the fastening rod being surrounded by the cap while in many other constructions the head of the rod was exposed. The cap is separable from the bracket and may be polished separately and given a fine finish. It is important that this part of the bracket should begiven the best finish possible.
It will also be observed that there are no parts employed for connecting the cap with the bracket. The lug e is formed integrally with the bracket arm. The nipple is firmly secured to the bracket, and the nut is made strong and durable as is apparent from. the drawings.
As shown in Figure 2, the cap is so formed around the opening d that to the bracket and when the nut is screwed home, the cap will firmly engage the outside .of the extension f. The nipple F may bev used to connect the bracket with a lamp socket, or the nut'may be used for that purpose. As shown, the nut carries a loop which forms no part of the subject matter herein claimed. By detaching the nut the cap may be easily removed, and the wires may be easily inspected or adjusted. There after the parts may be quickly reassembled.

I claim as my invention:
1. An electric hollow arm formed at its outer end with a bead, a nipple carrying extension and an inwardly extending lug engaging a fastening rod; and a cap seated against said head and concealing said lug.
2. An electric light bracket comprising an arm formed at its outer end with a lug enwhen applied light bracket comprising a gaging a supporting rod and rying extension; a nipple in said extension, and a cap fitted on the outer end of the arm through which the nipple extends and which conceals the lug.

An electric light bracket comprising an arm formed at its outer end with a bead, a lug engaging a supporting rod, and a nipple carrying extension; a nipple in said extension, a cap resting against the bead and ex- 5. 7 An electric light bracket comprising an arm, an integral projecting lip at the outer end of the arm, a nipple fastened in said lip, a cap fitting over the outer end ofthe arm and engaging said lip thereby concealing the same, and having an openingthrough which the nipple extends, and adjustable means on the nipple and directly engaging the cap to clamp. the parts in assembled relation.
