Waco, in the .county of McLennan and .State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hair Clippers, of
`which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in hair clippers..
The object of the-invention is to eliminate vibration and to ,transmit lto the voperating lever andcutter blade, a maximum power, thus making for' areduction of lost motion. Another .object of the invention is to sim-l plify the construction and ,produce a clipper more easily handled and more eflicient in its work.V
In carrying out the invention a volute or spiral driving gear .is employed to'drive the gear which swings ,the operating lever. It will be noted that the spiral driving niember engages said gea-rat a central kposition with relation tothe swing of 'the lever, whereby a consta-ntdrivingrelation `is maintained and compensation for wear is had. Also the tension plate has Contact with the blade entirely across its front yend which reduces wear and is superiortto the `lugs commonly used. A further feature ofthe invention is the elimination Aof packing strips adjacent the pivot post of y the 'operating lever.
A construction designed to carry out the. invention will be hereinafter described together with other features of vthe invention.

The upper side of `the easing is reduced to receive a flat cover plate 3:3 oont'ormiupl to thecontour thereoiand penetrated by the stud 14. This cover plate has an upset portion 36 over the disk 33. l also provide a tension plate 37 which overhanrgs the sides ot the casing` at the front end thereof and. has its rearend resting on the cover plate. The tension plate has its front 3S contasting with the blade 1S throughout its length. whereby it exerts an even pressure on said blade and holds it in the desired relation with the blade 12. The ystud 14 penetrates the plate 37 and receives a coiled spring' 39 between the plates which sprintfl acts to hold the @over plate 35 in pl ace and A tension spring` 40 is mounted on' the stud and bears on the plate 37.
