Referring first to the structure disclosed in Figs. 1 to'7. 1 denotes one of the case elements frusto-conical in form, the member or element being closed at its smaller end except for a small vent opening 2. The other end is shown as formed with a finished bead 3. The second case element 4 is 'of the same general form and ha a vent opening 5 formed. in its outer smaller end. At the opposite end it is formed with a nozzle 05 two diameters or sections denoted respectively by 6 and 7, the latter terminating "Specification of ietters Patent ,in diameter and x V ELSIE'GnnoiuBLE. holder when insuch conditionmay be readily carried in ones pocket.
The form illustrated in Figs. -8, 9 and 10 is substantially the same. .Instead of relying solely upon friction as a holding means to retain the case'elements together, section 1 is provided with a pin 14 adapted to 'pass into a bayonet slot 15 formed in the nozzle section 7 and to lock the base elements togetherupon a slight relative rotation. The bead construction omitted, the end of the case ele.
ment 1 making a close abutting fit with ashoulder 16 formed 'on element 4 immediately adjacent the nozzle section 7. v
The holder proper is substantially the same as that before described except that instead of flaring throughout its length it is made substantially cylindrical for a distance from its outer end. Furthermore its extremities are not beaded as under the first described construction.
3 and the stop bead 8 are under this- Under both constructionswhen it is desired to remove the holder from the case one need only to remove section 1 and then draw the stem 10 outwardly, the head 11 whereof passes into the rear portion of the holder 9 making close contact therewith whereupon the holder may be removed from the nozzle section 6. If desired the head may be first removed and the stem afterwards drawn into operative position.
The case elements and the holder or head element 9 are designed to be produced from thin metal and where gold and silver are employed the structure at once presents a pleasing and artistic finish and appearance.
What is claimed is 1. In a device of the class described, the combination of a two part hollow casing; means to hold the parts together; a cigarette holder, comprising a head and a stem telescoping the head; and means carried by one of the case elements engaging the head as the stem is telescoped within the head and passes into the casing.
2. n a device of the class described, the combination of a two part hollow casing, one of said elements having a. nozzle extending into the other when the parts are brought together; and a cigarette holder comprising a hollow head and a stem having a telescopic connection therewith, said head fitting a telescopic connection therewith, the mouth of said head being of such diameter as to pass over and to make frictional contact with the nozzle section of smaller diameter.
4. In a device of the class described, the combination of a hollow casing element, said element having a nozzle of two diameters at one end; a second casing element, the open end whereof passes onto the nozzle section of larger diameter; means for lockin said elements together; and a cigarette fielder comprising. a head and a stem having a telescopic connection therewith, the mouth of said head being of such diameter as to pass over and to make frictional contact with the nozzle section of smaller diameter.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification.
