The bottom of each compartment is open, Figure 6, and forms a, discharge opening tor the coins. It will be noted that inasmuchas the compartments are ot a depth substantially equal to the thickness ot the coins. the latter are held in position in the magazine end to end, that is, with their circumlferences in Contact, as shown in Figure l..

The outer. wall oi :ich magazine is cut out as at S in Figure l, such cut out portion being ot' less width than the coin and of less length than the compartment. The pro vision ot this cut` out portion permits ot access to the coins whereby the latter may pushed and moved through the magazine.

While the device is performing its unetion as a savings bank, the discharge openlocking device which, in the illustrated embodiment of my invention, comprises a member 9, Figures (3 and 7, provided with top, bottom, side and end walls whereby the interior enclosed space l() is toi-lied. rihe ends l1 of this member 9 are provided with extensions l2, which are adapted to embrace the lower end oi the coin holder. Upon the interior of the member 9 is secured a standard 1.3 which forms a bearing 'lor a plunger ll. This plunger projects laterally *from the adjacent side of the member 9. and is termed with an upward.projection l5 provided with an inwardly projecting member i6. This latter member 16 is adapted to pass through an opening 1T in the adjacent wall of the coin holder.
