UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOSEPH P. FIDERIUS, OF CLEVELAND, OHIO.
PORTABLE DOORSTOP.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH P. FIDERIUS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Portable Doorstops, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to door stops and has for its principal object to provide a portable door stop of simple and inexpensive construction which may be placed upon the floor to hold a door in its open position.
With the above and other objects in view as will be readily understood, the invention will be hereinafter fully described as illustrated in the accompanying drawings and the novel features thereof will be distinctly pointed out in the appended claims.
In the drawings similar characters of reference are used to designate corresponding parts.
Figure l is a side view of a door stop constructed in accordance with my invention.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of same,
Fig. 3 illustrates the door stop in its expanded position when in use, and
Fig. 4 illustrates a modification.
Referring to the drawings, 1 represents a single piece of flat spring steel or other similar material, which serves as a base and is bent upon itself at 2, then formed into an are 3, extends longitudinally at its forward end 4 and is bent under at 5 in spaced relation thereto for receiving the free end 6 of said base. 1 is adapted to rest upon the floor as is also the other bend under end 5 thus causing the base to be inclined, and said forward end it is adapted to slide longitudinally upon the free end 6 of the base when a door as indicated at 7 is swung over the arch 3 and The bend over end 2 of the basev Specification of Letters Patent. Patented Feb. 28 1922.

space 11, and its rear end is bent upon itself at 12, then formed into'an arch 18, and its free end 14 extends longitudinally and is adapted to slide withinthe space 11 of the forward end of said piece of flat steel.
From the above description and accompanying drawings, it is obvious that a door stop so constructed is inexpensive to manufacture due to its simplicity and is efficient for holding a door in its open position.
Having fully described my invention, What I claim is:
1. In a door stop, the combination of a single piece of fiat spring material bent upon itself atone end, one side of the flat material being formed in an arch, and means at one of the free ends of said fiat material for holding the other of said free ends inbase, a spring arch, the spring arch having 7 one end fixed to the base, the spring arch having its free end bent under the base, and the portion of the spring arch bent under the base having acorner adapted to engage the floor for preventing movement of the door stop, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
JOSEPH P. FIDERIUS.
