Be it known that we, Huso TUnonim'rvn and VILLMM ifi. Lora, citizens the United States, residiiu;` at Newark, in the county ot Essex and State oi New Jersey, have invented certain new and useiul l mprovenients in Bag-Locks; and we do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and eiaet description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appen tains to. make and use the same. reference being had to the accompany", and to characters or reference marked there on, which form a part ot' this speciication.

This invention relates, generally, to imA provements in bagdoczks; and, the present invention has reference, more particularly, to a novel construction ot lock ttor use in con nection with bagirarnes ot the various kinds, with a view ot providing the lockmechanisin thcreoi' with a key-receiving;v post arranged in a manner and ot such construetion, so that the hollow or tubular shank ot the key can be more easily brought into operative registration with the end oi' the said post, than is ordinarily the case with the construction ot bag-locks, as now generally used. lThe present invention, therefore, has toi' its principal objects to provide a novel and simply constructed bag-lock, in which the key-receiving; post is arranged in suoli a manner', that the end oit the hollow or tubular shank ot the key can be easily and quickly arranged on the tree end ot the key receiving post, for the manipulation oi: the hasp-'enaaging lock-mechanism; and, 'turthermore, to provide in connection with said lock-mechanism and the k y-receivino; post thereof, a reinforcing element providing` a stop vlier the key when the latter arranged upon the said post, and also a tubular sup porting member mounted upon said post, between the stop portion oi? the said reinforcing element and the usual spring-actuated key-post and hasp-lug carrier-plate or bridge of the lock.

Referring` now to the said figures or" the drawings, the reference-character l indicates a -fragmentary portion ot any one ot the usual bad-traine sections, providedwith an elongated opening as 2, and the referencecharacter 3 indicates a portion ot the other` usual bag-frame section, adapted to be closed within the trarne-section l in the. usual and well-known manner. We claim:

1. A. lockv tor bag-trames. and the like,r comprising a casing adapted to be secured to a vtrame-section, a locking mechanism within said casing, guide-rods within l mounted upon said guide-rods, a bridge-element mounted upon said carrier plate, said bridgeelement being provided with a perforation, a key-post also mounted upon said carrierplate and extending upwardly trom said plate into and through the perforation in said bridge-element, and a key-receiving housing` mountedl upon said bridge-element into which the upper end-portion ot said hey-post extends.

2. .A lock for bag-frames, and the like. comprising a casing adapted to be secured to a frame-section, a locking mechanism within said casing, guide-rods within said casing, a carrier-plate movably mounted upon said guide-rods, a bridge-element mounted upon said carrier-plate, said bridge-element being provided with apertoration, a key-post also mounted upon said (favier-plate and extending upwardly from said plate into and through the perforation in said bridge-element, and a stittening element between said carrier-plate and the said bridge-element.

3. A lock for bag-trames, and the like, comprising a casing adapted to be secured to a trame-section, a locking mechanism within said casing, guide-rods within said casing. ay carrier-plate movably mounted upon said `guide-rods, a bridge-element mounted upon said carrier-plate, said bridge-element being provided with a perforation, a key-post also mounted upon said carrier-plate and extending upwardly from said plate into and through the perforation in said bridge-element, and a tubular staying element encircling said key-post between said carrier-plate and the said bridgeelement.

4c. A lock Jfor bag-frames, and the like, comprising` a casing adapted to be secured to a trame-section, a locking mechanism within said casing, guide-rods within said casing, a carrier-plate movably mounted upon said guide-rods, a bridge-element mounted upon said carrier-plate, said carrier-plate comprising` a pair of upwardly extending end-members secured at their lower ends to said carrier-plate, a connecting member between said end-members, saidL connecting member being provided with per- :forations tor movably mounting the same upon said guide-rods, said connecting member being provided at its central portion with a pair of downwardly extending portions and a horizontally disposed connecting member between said` downwardly extending portions. all arranged to prtwidel a key-receiving seat, said last-mentioned connecting member being further provided with a perforation,r a key-post mounted upon said carrier-plate and extending upwardly :trom said plate into and through said lastmentioned perforation, and a 1Key-receiving housingmounted upon the first-mentioned connecting member of said bridge-element into which the upper end-portion oit said key-post extends.

5. A locl for bag-trames, and the like. comprisinga casing adapted to be secured to a ,trarne-section, a locking mechanism within said casing, guide-rods within said casing, a carrier-plate movably mounted upon said guide-rods, a bridgeelement mounted upon said carrier-plate, said carrier-plate comprising a pair ot" upwardly eX- tending end-members secured at their lower ends to said carrier-plate, a connecting member between said end-members, said connecting member being provided with perforations tor movably mounting the same upon said guide-rods, said connecting member being provided at its central portion with a pair of downwardly extending portions and a horizontally disposed connecting member between said downwardly ertending portions, all arranged to provide a key-receiving seat, said last-mentioned connecting member being further provided with a perforation, a key-post mounted upon said carrier-plate and extending upwardly'trom said plate into and through said last-mentioned perforation, and a stiffening element between said carrier-element and the said last-mentioned connecting member of said bridge-element. `i

6. A loclr for bag-trames, and the like, comprising a casing adapted to be secured to a frame-section, a locking mechanism within said casing, guide-rods within said casing, a carrier-plate movably mounted upon said guide-rods, a bridge-element mounted upon said carrier-plate, said carrier-plate comprising a pair ot upwardly extending end-members secured at their lower ends to said carrier-plate, a connecting member between said end-members, said connecting member being provided with perorations tor movably mounting the same upon said guide-rods, said connecting memelement encircling seid key-post betweensaid carrier-plate and the said last-mentioned connecting member of said bridge-element.

7. A bag-frame lock comprising a casing, a locking mechanism therein, a spring-controlled hasp-1ug carrier-plate movably disposed Within said casing, a key-receiving seat-element disposed above said carrierpiate, and a stifening,- element between said key-receiving seat-element and the said Carrief-plate.

8. A bag-frame lock comprising a casing, a locking mechanism therein, a spring-controlled hasp-lug carrier-plate movably disposed Within said casing, e, key-receiving seat-element disposed Vabove said carrierplate, said seat-element being provided with e perforation, a key-post extending up- Wardly from said carrier-plate, and a tubular staying element encircling said key-post between said seat-element and the said ce1*- rier-plate.
