Be it known that I, BERT ARTHUR LINDER- MAN, a citizen ofthe UnitedStates, vresiding at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State' of Illinois,v have invented certain new and 1 useful Improvements in Cabinets forDomestic Lighting Plants, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to they accompanying drawing.
This invention relates tofdomesticlighting plants and in particular to cabinets for inclosing such electrical-apparatus.
The object of our invention is to inclose a domestic lighting plant in a cabinet so that not only the dust, dirt and laccumulations of material will not collect upon this electrical apparatus and internal combustion engine, but also to the end that persons who are not authorized may not tamper with they apparatus.
There is an additional obj ect in putting an electrical power plant in a cabinet. That object is to inclose in one receptacle all of the control apparatus of the power plant and to seal it in a box. This successfully accomplishes the end of preventing the owner of the apparatus from tampermg, or having tampered with, the delicate electrical mechanism constituting the control apparatus. This has been foundjto be the greatest source of annoyance and trouble. It is largely due to the fact that persons unskilled in electrical work have endeavored to adjust the control contacts. By this method, when a part of the control apparatus goes wrong, the box in its entirety can be withdrawn and returned to the manufacturer with the seal on its cover unbroken.

Referring to Fig. 1, 1 is a base, 2 is a side door and 3 is another side door cooperating `with the door 2. By the edge 4 of the door 3 overlapping the door 2 and the lock generally designated at 5, the two doors can be locked together and locked shut on the cabinet frame. The doors are yhinged at 6-A-6 to the cabinet frame 7. The end post arrangement 8 vmay be integral with the end plates of the'cabinet or separate therefrom.

When it is desired to open the cabinet the lock 5 is actuated through the handle 19 and the doors 2 and 3 are swung Open, giving full access to the interior of the mechanism. take oii the top of the cabinet the retaining screws 13 can be taken ont and the top readily lifted off. The plate over the radiator can be suitably perforated to allow air to be drawn through which can pass out around the generator support and housing seen in F ig. 3 below the control box 9.
From the foregoing I believe that the construction or" my improved cabinet may be readily understood by those skilled in the art and I am aware that various changes and modifications may be made in the con struction illustrated without departing from the spirit of the invention as expressed in the following claims.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
l. A cabinet for domestic lighting plants comprising a base, end frames secured thereto, a top having a hole therein, side doors, a radiator secured to the interior of the end frames and having a cap projecting through the hole in the top, a control box also attached to the interior of the frame and a lock for the doors.
2. A cabinet for housing a domestic power plant including a base, a top, an end plate connecting the base and a top and having an opening therein, a detachable control box arranged in said opening and projecting into the interior of the cabinet, a second end plate carrying a radiator which is arranged within the cabinet, a cap for the radiator extending to the exterior of the cabinet to permit filling of the radiator without opening the cabinet, one side of the cabinet being provided with an opening7 doors normally closing Said last mentioned opening, a latch for locking said doors in closed position, and means for locking the control box in position.
