NECKTIE-PRESSING BOARD.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, 'JUOZAPAS ATKOCAITIS,

residing at Chicago, county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Necktie-Pressing Boards, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in necktie smoothing devices or ironing boards, and manner of using the same.

It is the principal object of my invention to provide a device that is suitable for smoothing out the wrinkles in neckties.

A further object of the invention is to provide a device of convenient dimens ons which will stretch the tie to its original shape and will permit the wrinkles to be smoothed out prior to the ironing operation. 1 Y

Another object of the invention is to produce a portable device for thepurpose mentioned that is operated in a simplev manner,

and efiiciently, with a minimum of attention on the part of the operator and which is especially adapted to allow an ironing of the smaller as well as the larger part of for instance four-in-hand ties.

To this end the device comprises a pairof each of which is shaped to fit one end of the tie and to expand and stretch it. I

Fig. 2 is a top plan view of the devlce constructed according to the present invention and illustrating the manner of using the device.

smaller part 15- upon its wing 11 while the lining 16 of the larger wmg h broken off. 8 Own In Fig. 3 the lining 16 is shown engaged by the prongs 12 of the larger wing 10 doubled up and drawn underneath of the large w1ng 10, to which the larger part 14 of the necktle 1s clamped by clamps 17, 18 while the small wmg 11 is placed on top of the inner face of part 14' and the smaller part 15 rests upon the wing 11 while its lining 19 is drawn around prongs 13 to cover the underside of the small wing 11.

It will be clear that the wings in this manner are thrust in the ends of the ties to be flattened out, and if this operation is performed every time after the tie has been used the tie will be kept in good order and W111 beeasily smoothed with a pressing iron.

The wlngs may be made of any suitable material and changes may be made in the form and size without materially departing from the scope and spirit of my invention.

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is as follows 1. A tie stretching and pressing device comprising a pair of wings, one larger than the other, prongs on each of said wings, the larger wing adapted to support the larger end of a tie and its prongs adapted to engage the lining of saidlarger end, the shorter wing adapted to support the smaller end of the tie and its prongs to engage the lining of said smaller end and clamping means for clamping the tie to said wings.

2. A tie stretching and pressing device of the character described,comprising a smaller and a larger wing, prongs at the smaller end of each of said wings, said prongs adapted to engage the lining of a tie, the larger wing adapted to support the larger end of a tie and the smaller wing adapted to be placed within said larger tie end and to sup ort the smaller end of a tie substantially as escribed.

3. A tie stretching, smoothing and pressing device of the character described, comprising a smaller and a larger wing of oblong shape, a plurality of prongs at the smaller end of each of said wings, said prongs adapted to engage the lining of a tie, the prongs of the smaller wing the lining of the smaller part of the tie, and the prongs of the larger wing'the lining of the 5 larger tie part, the small wing and tie part adapted to be placed upon the larger wing to support the ironing process, and means for clamping the larger part and the smaller part upon said larger wing, substantially as described.
